Thread: Need bisuness advice
Im not definite but I am beginning to wonder if the vendor list on the Ctrl V map is the reason I am having such good sales even though I am one of the most if not THE most expensive droid engineer on the server. That vendor list only shows 4 vendors listed as selling droid items 3 of them are mine. Now, whether people use that as an easier alternative to going to the nearest main town and searching via the bazaar I don't know.
Apart from the first month of sales 2 years ago almost I have never needed to use a barker droid. And I have had vendors in 3 different locations on tatooine (Mos Eisley 1km, Anchorhead 2km and now within RAGE itself on the other side of the planet). In all locations I had great sales.
So, if that vendor list hardly shows any other vendors on your planet it may be worth listing on it yourself.
Ah, a 3 week old store. Definitely time for a barker droid. Set it up somewhere in that outpost and let it spout out stuff. Maybe have it running on tatooine in eisley or coronet, corellia as that seems to be where a lot of players end up passing through.
Not sure what else to suggest as I personally don't have a vendor on Lok but my guild mate has and it has some sales but not brilliant. So maybe a planet change may be the option...

The only thing I refuse to use, is the vendor map because I dont want to use the skill points for merchent since its useless other than a stupid mark on the map for my shop. Bisuness is SLOW! I knew bisuness would be bad being a DE. The money isnt why I got into it. But My shop has ben up for 3 weeks with only one customer. Any advice on how to make a shop work without useing vendor map? Any advice/insults are welcome. Ill even move my shop to another planet (thinking of moveing neart mos esely) if it would be a better idea.
The statement in bold is actually your problem. As handy as the Bazaar Vendor search option is, it is only useful if the customer bases knows how to use it.
I've been running a vendor on Shadowfire lately that is less then 1k out of Bestine and has a full vendor of BH droids, priced at server average prices. For 3 weeks I had the vendors listed on the map, using 3xxx Merchant. After the 3 weeks, I dropped that line of Merchant. During the 3 weeks I had around 20 sales per week. After I dropped the Advertising, I had only 5 sales per week. This is the second time that I have tried this experiment and both time, the results were the same.
You also have to remember that most people will buy from a shop because they enter the shop and see one thing that they like, and decide to look around at what else you have on the vendor. If the person never sees a vendor displayed on the map, then they won't bother to stop in your shop and look around.

So, inother words I should drop points and pick up atleast merchent 3, other wise I am almost certen to live a miserable life finantual wise with my shop. Yikes.I like my combat skills and being able to go to my harvisters without dieing (most of the time anyway....) Geuss Ill have to think about it though as I have had only one customer. Thanks for the advice. Not what I wanted to hear, but Im willing to bet your both right since I rarely use vendor search other than to make shure im competitevly priceing my stuff. I usually use the vendor map to search for shops so I geuss I should have figured that was my problem. Ill let you know how it gose.
Well, barring the more difficult planets your own combat droid will save your butt most of the time as long as you don't group.
Perhaps if Droids are your only business you can amalgamate your vendors and cut down the number of vendors and/or the amount of discount you get on lot maintenance and just concentrate on that first merchant column at least until you get a name for regular supplies.

Right, if they know how to advance to the next screen, and if they are patient enough to plow through multiple screens before they get to your listings.
I agree, being on the map is huge.
