Thread: What do the droid specs mean?

I want to buy a battle droid, but i cant figure out what they can do to determine if they worth buying. Im not looking for something to kill rancors with, just a companion to kill kreetles around my house and to hunt eopies and stuff. I see droids for 50k and I cant tell how much damage they do or their HAM. Can someone break down the differnet Droid specs for me so i can make an informed purchase.
What droids can be battle droids? What shoudl I look for? What is the highest damage they can inflict?
/sigh
There are no battle-droids here.. move along.. move along... only perversions of the StarWars theme. ![]()

Giving a non DE a non answer because he said battle droid instead of combat ready droid is just nitpicky Pallida.
To answer the question fully is very complex, but I can boil down the basics for you. we are able to add combat modules to several droid frames. the amount of damage and attack speed, etc will vary based on several factors.
A) the frame itself (R-series droids, Probots, LE repair droids, and protocol droids all accept combat modules now) each frame has a fixed range of min and max dmg, spd etc.
B) the number of combat modules- to get the best combat droids, Combat modules need to be stacked, in order to achieve the full possible rating for a given frame.
C) the quality of the combat module- a DE experiments his module to try to get the best possible rating. A maximum rating of 110 is hard to get because of resource quality availabilty, but most good DEs can get a module rating of 100 without too much trouble. Now, all that being said...
When you buy a droid, unless the DE has named the deed to display its stats, you have no way to know how good it is. BUT you can examine the deed and look at a few things to get a rough idea. HAM will approach 1100 max on Probots, 1600 or so for R models, and 2200 or so for LEs. a few points less is normal. Combat Droid Deeds should also display a combat rating, which is the sum of all the combat modules installed in the droid. this will range from 200 or so on an LE, to 600 on an R3 advanced.
My basic advice is this: find an advanced Probot with 1050+ HAM, and a combat rating of 500+. the actual difference between a 500 rating probot and a 550 maximum is really quite small. And don't forget to buy Repair (not reconstruction) Kits!

thx for the info. Last question about how much damage willa droid do per 100 of combat rating? If i got a max combat ratiing how much damage can i expect to inflict roughly?
Thats dependant on the model of droid they are put into. Combat modules effect different frames in different ways... i dont think we have specifics for every chassis yet.

Only been doing a few variations of droid with combat modules. and as of yet information isn't available on deeds. but here is some rough numbers.
LE Repair droid
2200 HAM
Melee combat
60-80 Damage
R3-Series
1700 HAM
Melee/Range
100-130 Damage
Probot
1100 HAM
Range
130-150 Damage
The Ham is the max for the chassi. Damage is about avarage on the chassi type
By the way - those numbers you have listed there are for patch 7 - patch 8 droids have quite a bit more HAM and attack power (CL 18 instead of 13)
True. But I also think that the deeds in patch 8 will have more info regarding ham, damage and such on droids. These numbers are only useful until patch 8 hits, which probably wont be for another couple of weeks.
