When some one has a Binary lifter droid out, when they want to redeed a structure the maintence does not get cut into. if you had 3000 credits in a harvestor and u use a binary lifter to redeed it when you put up the harvestor again. It will have 3000 credits in it.

THe droid will cost depending 30k-60k i n a matter of weeks that will pay for the droid.

A perfect use for the droid - i think.

Another use that I think would be great with player cities out, allow you to move (not very far) buildings and structures (that you own) without having to redeed. This would allow people to organize their city better while not having to find a place to store all their stuff (I would love this myself as I have a PA hall, medium house, 4 small houses, and 5 factories, obviously not on my own lots, all about full).

Thats another great idea moving the structures without redeeding.

I think this was the part of the original plan for the use of these droids. The problem was that they probably had to have a binary lifter to move structures.

Which probably caused problems in Beta, but who knows?

This is a great idea! Moving harvesters is SO expensive! Someone should make sure this gets added to the list.

For the average miner, it would pay for itself in one week - 10 harvestors * 3000cr a hit. Yup. That would be very popular. I'd reduce it a little (they are trying to still create money sinks, and this would remove one of the biggest in the game), and say it cuts the cost by half or two-thirds rather than completely remove it. For a miner, that covers costs in 2 weeks, rather than one, leaves a bit of a money sink in the game and makes BLLs useful.

Actually, a BLL would be useful if you could actually store bulk items in them...and actually "lift a load" by having 100 item storage capability. I have found countless times where I wish I could have all my resources in a droid instead of keeping them all in my house/factory. Being able to use them for resource storage and then being able to pull out my crafting droid also or just being able to use it in front of a crafting station and keep all my resources well organized and easy to use for droid crafting. Also, if these could actually have the 100 item storage they would be of great use to any player and allow them to keep most anything in a droid that they can pull out at anytime...(barring the database can handle it).

My sales pitch for binary load lifters on Bria right now is "Selling Binary Load Lifter, 50k, Great for Advertising and Pancakes!"

Because he would make good pancakes.

Sold one yesterday for advertising. On my server, Bria, there's a bunch of advertising going on with pets moving back and forth across a starport.

*cough*Theed*cough*

I've arrived there a number of times with 4 of the things marching back and forth and into the cantina.

Saw another good one yesterday - rancor pets being used as advertising dropped inside the Tyrena starport hallway (left side).

The funniest thing I saw in Theed was one of the BLLs wandering around with the name BuyStructuresFromXX, and then someone else had set a mouse droid to follow it with the name set to DontBuyStructuresFromXX. Made me laugh for a good five minutes that one.

Heh. I like to set my BLL ad to follow other advertising droids -- like when I'm too busy or lazy to map out a patrol path. Pretty funny to the BLL following a mouse or a gonk droid.

Also, occasionally I set my BLL to follow a newbie player around just for fun -- I make sure they're in on the gag too (no intent to harass), but first I let them run around for a bit trying to get that BLL of their tail!
