Thread: Thunderheart: Non-creature handlers get 1 active pet max
I think this is one of the best changes that could have happened! They're actually going to increase our sales, not decrease it. I would highly recommend tooling up now for the explosion of people wanting probots in the near future when these changes land.

Well, most everyone is looking at this and thinking 'boy what a nerf that is to CH' but read it closely...one pet period, be it droid, mount, or perk. This is a pretty major nerf. All those people who call up probots to supplement their pets, well now they must choose...do I use a probot, or do I use a pet. I bet you know the answer to that.
WHo is worried about what this will do to DE sales?
Like an overall limit to how many pets you can have out at a time say around 5, then each type of pet has a limit to how many of them you can have out, as in you can have 3 ch pets, 3 droids, or 3 fp related pets (at-sts or troops).
That way you can have some diversity in your group, but there would be the overall limit which capped the number of pets you could have out.
I don't know if that makes sense or not, I'm not good with explaining things. Pretty much just trying to say you could have 5 pets out, while theres a max on each type so youd have to mix the different types.
haha - all I can see as a rebel hapening is no more 3 at-sts - all you get now is 1 - boy this nerf really hitthe spot - of course I as a CH am nerfed too but - hey they promise new and rare babies so my spirit is high
BTW I hear DE will be able to call 2 droids out - 1 combat and 1 support
Yeah, this is really going to suck. I like my probot better than my Cowardly Gurrek (bye-bye, BTW), but I can heal my pet while we fight. My probot has to just take damage and try not to blow up. Seems to be pretty ineffective against melee mobs too.
They need to make that rule for BE/CH pets, not droids. Number of pulled droids needs to go up, not down. As it is, my power and repair droids are there for the service of others... ![]()
Another thing to add here is that probots have a ranged attack (though it won't do much damage tends to work better in strategies) and also from what I've heard responds to commands a bit better. I don't use creatures myself but many have my customers have commented that the probot will change targets and move around much quicker when told than their pet does.

DEs get to have more than one droid called at a time, MCHs back to 3 pets, other additional pets called based on profession (ie Droid Certs).
As for repairing the probot, you realise that if you have a repair module in the droid and you target another, you can instantly heal that droids damage?
If the changes go through as described, that makes having a DE along to a hunting party actually a really useful thing. Party uses the New and Improved Probot, DE sits back with the medic and commands his droids to run around and keep the other droids repaired while the medic throws area stims to keep everyone else alive. Without seeing more dynamics, I think this could be quite an interesting thing.
For me this is last thing that keeps me using probot at all, all I'll be using is mount. After they made fixing bots so hard I have almost completely stopped using probots and havent seen anyone using them lately on any hunt due the fact that 840 hamis not enough for tanking any bigger enemies, shame really I liked my bot.
Anyways not being able to heal your own bot makes CL10 pet lot better due the fact that you can heal it by yourself anytime, it won't be good as probot but 0 ham probot isn't much going to help you. If I only could heal my own bot like in camp then you would see lots of people buying probots after next big patch.
Add to that DEs droideka rips mobs to death while DE manages repair droid! I like that dynamic a lot.
