Thread: TH- if MDE/MCH is the only pure pet class, then I'm all over that!
I love the pet classesthe mostof every MMO I've ever played.
If MDE get additional droids, and MCH get additional pets, then I'm going to MDE/MCH.
should I start grinding now?
Perhaps I should wait...
That would only leave enough skill points for Novice Pistoleer, nothing too powerful.
Many CH's have been wanting a "pure" pet class... it's starting to look like MDE/MCH is the answer to that if the devs make the changes that they are talking about.
any thoughts?
but MCHs just go over to some pet and tame it... fight a bit withit... etc. we have to spend hours and hours of crafting stupid stuff.
They should have to change the whole way we get XP.... stupid idea.

don't kid yourself, grinding CH xp is very very slow...
...and getting slower all the time.
oh yes, I got MCH back in the days when the tusken camp was giving out xp like candy at the thanksgiving day parade, but guys who are trying it now have a very long road ahead of them.
fighting a thousand creatures or crafting a thousand mouse droids, still a grind either way.
It currently cost about 1.8 million credits to Master DE, at 3 c per unit. One must build put together about 300 MSE droids, and then 19,000 advanced droid frames once they get the resouces. In the mean time we don't sell anything until we master at least 2 branches and even then we sell very little.
I'm ganna go out on a limb and say that taming and fighting with creatures is more fun than building advanced droid frames and moving around extractors for hours.
This was probably pointless but it makes me feel better.

_DO NOT_ compare the DE grind with CH. For all that is good and holy

Your comments aren't wasted on me.
I'll be the first to admit that I don't know (yet) what the DE grind is like.
The previous poster was trying to trivialize CH progression by characterizing it aswalk up to something, tame it, fight with it and you done. But it's more complicated than that. You spend more time running when looking for something to tame than anything else. And taming isn't always sucessful, and can get you killed. It takes a week for a pet to grow. You only get xp for fighting things that are a higher level than your pet. etc etc etc etc etc
I was only trying to say that it's still a grind too... but I have NO IDEA how much tougher (or easier) grinding DE can be.
THE LAST THING I want to do is turn this thread into a DE versus CH discussion.
The whole point of this thread is what we (are likely to) have in common:
- Both will get pets.
- Both will getadditional pets at master.
- Both will get pets which are reserved exclusively for their profession.
So, if you (like me) are interesting in being a "pure" pet class, then the combo of MDE & MCH seems exciting.
I define "pure" pet class as: The character who lives and dies by the sucess or failure of his pets, and his ability tocommand them, rather than by means of other weapon-based sklils.
As such, a MDE/MCH will have very little skill points left over for weapon skills, and would fit this definition quite well.
I probably should have posted this on the CH forums.
I'll go post itover there.
