Thread: Droid and Pet death
What's wrong with a droid or pet actually getting killed in combat?
This would add a level of discretion when using pets. If a pet or droid got killed, people would still come back for more, especially the people who like to solo. I think it would be a boon for our economy (duh) and make people be more responsible and attached to their possessions.
Although I hate the idea of using descression, I'd have to agree. Pets die, droids get FUBARed, especially when sent against massive creatures that should squish them flat without trying.
The only problem with pet-types dying, though, is that the devs put in some extremely difficult material. They're constantly complaining about power leveling, and creatures being too powerful, and yet they keep throwing 15k-resist all-high ermor-deadly damage creatures and NPC's at us. How are we expected to "explore every aspect of the game" if we're forced to get tanks for us to be able to survive?
Pets dying would greatly slow down our exploration, because everyone would at least be trying to preserve their 50k investments by running away instead of sticking with it.
But, I do like the idea of actual cash flow, and repeat customers once their droids give out from abuse.
Long live permadeath!

Get together with other players, group up. Unless you area CH pets aren't supposed to replace other characters in a group, so get 3 or 4 of your friends to go exploring with you. I don't think there's anything in the game right now that 3 or 4 combat and medic type characters can't handle (assuming your not going way out of your skill level). The whole point of an online multiplayer game is to interact with other people, and I'd say this includes hunting with other players more than pets.

where any of you in this game when the devs did do permadeath... what a mistake- I seem to recall not many droids being sold... and a lot of people picking up CH at the time...
Long live non-perma-death
Except that Im not in a guild and there are times when I play at weird hours of the day for only a short time and dont want to spend it looking for groups. Most of the time at least a quarter of my friends are on and sometimes they dont have time to group. Yeah its not impossible to get a group going on some of the adventure planets but sometimes it takes forever to cordinate a large group and I just dont have time for that.
