Content. We all want more of it. And recently I have heard that soon Armorsmiths will be able to find rare pieces to make a really really cool piece of armor (R.I.S Armor ?). While I dont know more than that about the armorsmith armor thing, it got me thinking about my own profession.

I would like to see something like this for Droid Engineers too. People can loot extraordinary weapons so why not have some extra rare droid you could build through collecting the schematics for it on a quest. Maybe even havingit need something like akrayt pearl or force crystalsto make it.

I was thinking some old uber droid from the EU days of old 4,000 years ago in Star Wars time. Or even something more recent like finding a contact that leads you eventually to a forgotten schematic for an IG-88 droid etc.

Possible paths for this:

1) You obtain the schematic for the final droid and be able to make the parts from what you have.

2) You obtain schematics for the rare droid pieces from missions and obtain the final schematic at the end.

3) You obtain rare pieces from missions, and make the final droid from a schematic.

Of course this schematic would make a limited amount of these droids. Maybe two in case one crit fails.

An idea for one multi staged mission could be the following: Example IG-88 droid.

NPCdroid engineerinforms you rather drunkenly that he is in trouble, on the run,and needs help. You agree to help him by taking his place to go pick up a part he needs to build something. He doesnt tell you what it is. You agree to help.

You have to go to Endor to pick it up. Fly back to Lok where you are informed when you get back by another NPC (maybe a Spynet Op) that they have killed that NPCdroid engineerwhile he tried to flee them. Thinking you might know something, the new NPC requests that you now work with him to try to recover secret document. But he says he cant get going until a stranded member of his team gets his landspeeder up and running on Dantooine. He needs an R2 to repair it. So you have to build and R2 and run out to him and give it to him.

Return to the NPC Spynet guy but he is not there. A NPC Smuggler is there now instead andhas found the documents the NPC droid engineer had. Hesenses however thathe will never get it off the planet alive with the information as it is too sensitive. He entrusts it to you because who will suspect a droid engineer of being capableof interplanetary smuggling? He tells you to leave and meet him out in the wilderness in Corellia.

You fly there and meet him there. As a reward he gives you an extraordinary treasure map with a waypoint.

You activate the waypoint and it is on Dathomir. The waypoint leads to a treasure inside an abandoned building that looks like a secret droid military creation factory. When you dig it up, you get an IG-88 schematic.

Well thisis an example of cool Droid Engineer specific quests we will probably never see but would be cool in my own opinion. I imagine it should be a lot more complicated than that but at least it is a starting point for the devs. We will probably never see anything like this and I would rather build the IG-88 but then again that doesnt follow with Star Wars canon.

If anyone else has any ideas: unique droids, quests, or otherwise, I would love to hear them.

This is a great idea. When you work for somthing, it makes it that much cooler. of course working for MDE is a real pain too! But I love the idea of DE specific quests and DE loot drops. However, quests should be more city based if DEs are not given serious combat droids. Otherwise, heck yeah!
