Not yet. That command worked for a while on the test center, but was removed because it didn't worked as intended. Maybe in one or two weeks.

So... is it still useless? Or, can we actually customize droids now, and not just waste our time and skill points?

Are they ever going to be putting in Droid Customization? IE color and stuff like that. I know DEs can change the color of thier chassis but what about player droids? Is this up and coming?

Great question.... I wish we knew. SOE has not given us anything new on this nagging problem.

They supposedly had the Droid Customization kits on their internal QA server and were going to include it in the last big patch we had but they pulled it from the list because they couldn't make the deadline. They said they might be able to get it in Septembers big patch but as we all know when they say 'might' we should probably not hold our breath.

The DEVs selected 20 calls, from the datapad, as the maximun time a paint jobwill last. Why only 20 is unknown and I think most DEs whant the paint job to last a lot longer.

The customization lifespan is ludicrously short.
I can't figure out why all I can make, in this technologically advanced universe, are dry-erase markers.
It wouldn't be so bad if we could select the initial color of the droid at creation, and it always faded back TO that color... Then you could 'dress up' your droid for special occasions or whatever, and still have it be a predictable, desirable color.
It's REALLY stupid when we make advanced-type droids from chassis. We can select the color combination we want for the chassis, and then it's lost when we make a droid from the darned thing.

I bought a nice red and silver R2 droid from my friendly neighborhood DE and after playing with my droid for the first time I stored it in my datapad. Now the first time I calledit I get a message that my droid has lost all it customization, and now my it's some purple looking hunk of metal:smiley sad:. Is this a bug or do customizations only last for a very short time?

They do wear down, though it sounds like the initial droid was never painted to begin with. If that was the case then it's caught the random colour bug, which will cause it to change colours every time it is called. Some actually enjoy the effect, though others don't. If you don't want your droid doing this then just find a Droid Engineer and have them repaint the droid for you. It will probably last about a week (perhaps two) before it'll need another repainting, but it'll prevent it 'disco-lighting' every time it is called.
