I've had no luck naming driods with personality chip installed. I don't see this lsited as a known issue in the guide. I was curious how you do it if you don't do it with teh programming like other driods without a chip?
Hi Krosc,
I'm fairly certain it is on the bug list, as it's been around for a looooong time, but to answer your question - Nope, there is currently -no- way to name a droid with a personality chip unfortunately. I highly recommend you /bug it in game though, because it's yet another of these minor, non-game stopping bugs that we'd all like fixed eventually!
From the above, and below, mentioned thread
Issues per Droid Type
- LE Repair Droid Basic/Advanced
- Can not be named. *Found Present*
- Protocol Droid Basic/Advanced
- Can not be named. *Found Present*
- Surgical Droid Basic/Advanced
- Can not be named.*Found Present*

There is also this mention, an item number 17 under "Per Module Type" I believe:
Personality Chips - None Reported
Now, is the issue directly related to Personality chips, or does it just happen to be only the droids you listed above that actually use Personality chips that are affected?
Never noticed the correlation before! Istopped naming my droids for the most part a long time ago in silent protestagainst having to name a droid thesame way we name other pets (which I do believe is on the wishlist somewhere!)

OK, I was looking in wrong place. I had looked under module descriptions. Somemodules have the current issues listed there also.
Glad to know I'm not crazy. I thought I just had a really stubborn LE Repair driod at first.

The ability to name the Protocol Droid, Surgicial Droid, and LE Repair Droid stopped functioning when the 'Converse' radial menu option for these three droids, aswell asthe AT-ST, was added. All droids, at that point in time, could have a personality chip installed, so this issue does not appear to be directly related to the Personality Chips.
From the testing that I have performed, and lack of solid reports, there aren't any known issues with the Personality Chips.

Good deduction Drashk, makes sense to me
