Hey all by now I am sure you all have experienced the same issues that I have concerning Customization. Instead of saying "Oh this sucks...booo....wah wah wah...blah blah blah" Let's list what droids are not accepting customization.

First off the droids that keep their customization after storing and recalling.

LE Repair Droid

Probot

Droids that do not accept customization

R2

Please post here what does and does not work here so we can assist in make this the most fun profession ever.

According to the folks on TC:

5. Droid customisation tool not listed anywhere seems to function with the following limitations: (Please note that this has not been tested since the patchnoteless patches, only from the Big Patch(tm))

5a. No R-Unit droid will hold customization once stored
5b. Binary Load Lifter and Energy Droid will not hold customization once stored
5c. Customization is permanent on Surgical, Probot, and LE Repair droids i.e. it never fades.
5d. Customization of droid chassis does not result in a customized finished droid
5e. Droid customization kit offers DE's of any skill level all 64 color customization choices on all droids. Refinement tree does not seem to be consulted.

Just to add: I couldn't customize my protocol droid. I was hoping to make him silver. The box came up, but there were no colors from which to choose. I am a Master DE.

I was able to color my probot. A nice red color He even kept the color after storing and re-calling him. The R5 I have I could color but it was gone when I re-called him. I didn't have time to test out my MSE or DZ70 (yes I kept one for myself, only one I ever made or ever will )

the new color for the droid only appears to the people who were close enough to see it when it was customized, I was painting up a storm last night at the rebel base (Rori).

I would have to make a quick run back to my house to get more custom units, and when I got back all the people are standing around bs'ing and all the droids looked painted default color to me, but to everyone there they looked like they supossed too (customized).

People comming in from missions could not see the customizations either.

hmm, don't know if it sheds light on the subject but,

with the info I posted on my last post I believe that droid cusumization must be client side,

thus explaining why only people who share the field of view with the droid when it is called or custumized can see the custumization and when you leave the field of view the info is no longer loaded and is lost

My experience is the opposite to PureS, same server too. I painted my Probot the brightest ey-catching red possible (ie attract more sales) and went on a tour through Tyrena and Coronet. Everyone could see the colours, regardless of whether I'd done it in front of them or not, taken a shuttle or not etc.

The only thing to "complain" about is "darn these tools take a long time to make" when you'v got 10 people all wanting red probots and you're only experimenting 2-3 charges per tool. I think I finally have a reason to go grind out the refinement tree!

Another bug I've noticed and had confirmed by another Novice DE I was chatting with, as that constructing the tool did not give Droid Crafting XP, nor did the use of it. Sinstori - if you're reading this, could you put that in as a high-priority hot-fix requirement to the devs. This is one way that novice DEs can make money in a useful way and it would be nice to get the XP for it too. If it was the case of being able to get XP, I'd quickly hire a bunch of the novices I train to knock me out a couple of hundred of these tools. Without the Xp gain, it's not worth my or their time.
