Thread: Taming droids works again

However every time I call out my R2 droid it has random colors. And I am not talking about white or gray with some red. I am talking about purple and green, or orange and blue. It looks horrible :-)

It will at least make walking through town more colorful than it was before.

LOL -- I just replied to another post that implied custom colors from a chassis held through on creating the final droid.

So my question: Was the droid you made an Advanced or basic model? Perhaps the advanced models will now give us the extra choice to colorize the chassis and have it stick?

Ok, I just tried out customizing it. At first I was coloring the trim and the body at the same time and it would only remember the trim when calling it again. The body was some very ugly red. When I only did one coloring at a time it seemed to be working quite well.

You cannot believe how happy I am to have a nicely colored droid following me. Also I am sure customers will think the same way too.

I've gotta agree with you. Colored droids are going to be VERY popular.

Heck, I even had someone stop me today and tell me 'jolie droid' (I'm on Kauri, lots of French speakers there) regarding my very dark red probot!

I have been promising customers a free customization 'after the big patch' for a couple of weeks now, and I'm looking forward to the results. Maybe we'll see a few more droids around, if people can have them look the way they want.

You didn't come out and say it here, but can I assume you're talking about the R2 from your first post?

If so this would be great news and if anyone can confirm that other droid types (that didn't hold colors yesterday) will now be customizable!

I was just trying to color a customers R5 droid. It seemed to be going well at first but after he recalled the droid things were back to the old gray. As long as it works on my beloved R2 I am happy though.

That also means that the system works in principle and the others can probably be fixed without much of an effort.

That's strange becausea R5 I just made is holding its color now!

This is a regular R5 that was made post patch.

By "post-patch" do you mean the one we got last night, or the big-patch from a couple of days ago? This is starting to actually get a little bit exciting that we may actaully be able to colour the things to a customer's request. With any luck, all the new droids taking it will mean that maybe existing customers will come back asking for new droids with new colours (well, I can dream can't I?)

So, are droids made 'today' holding colour over being stored?
