Some of you may already be doing this, and have been for a long time. I figured some of the newer people may not.
In game you have a "notepad," it can be accessed by typing /notepad. Put the more detailed descriptions of your droids there. Then just cut and paste them into the description on your droid when you put it on your vendor. Much better then typing it all out everytime, especially for ones like the maint droid.
Cut and paste is setup in your chat options if you didn't know.

Good tip.... I do this with all my Crafting classes.
Also great for making signs the way you want.

Just one question... how does one go about cutting and pasting in a game where all the customary controls for such actions do other things? (right click moves the character, and Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V both open windows....)
I even looked in the help screens... laughable... total lack of help for anything relating to how-to instructions...

Mine are bound the same way Drashk, and I am regularly hitting ctr-alt-c and ctr-alt-v outside the game to try and copy/paste.

You have to bind them....like so
Ctrl-O / Controls / Keymap / Chat Edit Copy Bind it to Ctrl-Alt-C
Ctrl-O / Controls / Keymap / Chat EditPaste Bind it to Ctrl-Alt-V
Works really well when you usethe default key binds.
Also, instead of having to type in /notepad, /not will work. Makes a great Macro Item as well.
You can locate the /notepad while not in the game by entering the following directories \StarWarsGalaxies\profiles\CharacterName\Notes.txt
You can write something up while not online and cut/paste it to the file. It will show up when you log onto the character.
This is a great tip for anyone that likes to try and make designs for their shop signs.

In the options menu go to the controls tab, then choose customize controls (or something along those lines, bottom right corner I think). That should bring you to a different window where you can bind commands to whatever you want. copy/cut/paste are under the chat tab, labeled edit copy, edit cut, and edit paste. I bound mine to ctrl+shift+c/v/x, but whatever works for you is good. This is also where you can bind macros to key combinations. I've gota couple useful macros like /mount;/dismount bound to some key combinations so I don't have to take up room in my toolbar for them.
Along the lines of /notepad, I like to use that to add customers to my customer list. I have to keep the list itself outside of game (not only do I still not trust /notepad completely, but I've got some 600 names on the list and it would take forever to do anything with it) but whenever I have people I want to add to it I just put their name in a section of my notepad, then before I send out any customer emails I copy all of those to my main list (which I keep in windows notepad). Makes the process much simpler. Plus, with the copy paste key sets you can just keep all your customer names in name; name; name format in notepad, allowing an easy copy/paste into the email header, circumventing the normal limited space they give you in the to: field.(warning: if you try to send out email to over about 500 people, you will kill your galaxies connection!).

another good tip for crafters or otherwise:
Create alot of different kinds of chat windows:
For example i have:
Spatial+Guildchat+everything but combat,
Guildchat +instant messages (for when around coronet/theed)
Groupchat+Instant message+maybe guildchat
System message
How to add chats is easy for example if you want to see guildchat in spatial, right click on the word spatial in the tab and then on the drop down list select modify. Next youll see a list of avail channels in the window on the left, simply doubleclick guildchat and then click ok. Now youll see guildchat in spatial, just /gu speak to talk in guildchat. You also can change which chat is default in a simular way.
Why so many different kinds of the same things? well if you are talking to alot of ppl they help filter out the conversations good for if you are dealing with a large group or allotta customers.
Just a simple setup change that has helped enhance my gameplay alot.
