I know the way most crafters seem to work, is they do a lot of factory creations, and they spend most of their "work time" loading vendors with mass produced cookie cutter objects. With DE it seems a lot easier to work entirely on a custom only basis, which is what I do. Just if many of us do something similar, or if most people tend to make set types of droids and just keep them in stock?

About the only thing I would mass produce, are the seeker and arkady probes.

I pretty much craft everything else individually, except for the rare times when someone orders multiple items (say, 10 Protocol Chassis for shuttleport constructions, or ISD's)

Which reminds me, I need to make more runs of the ADMS ... Stupid BLL units... Hates them!

I mass produce Droid Brains (as well as Adv DB's), Adv Motive systems, Control Units, Item Storage Modules, Medic Modules, GP Modules, and Memory Modules. I may be missing a couple or few, but basically anything that I use a lot of, or requires identical serials, I keep a good supply on hand. There's nothing that bugs me more than when I take on a rush order even when I know better because I'm a bit busy, then find I've gotta go and do a factory run.

Occasionally, if my factory isn't busy, I'll run a bunch of R3 Adv chassis.

NO, it isn't easier to custom make everything by hand, it's easier to mass produce as much as possible. Not only is it faster, but it's the only way to avoid the ridiculous rate of critical failures, experimentation failures, etc. that come with crafting. There's NO way I'm gonna sit there and craft say, twenty R3 combat droids one by one, pray that the HAM comes out good, and then gnash my teeth and log out as half of them are completely destroyed in various failures.

The SWG crafting system dictates that even though we're Masters in our profession, we completely screw up half of what we make. With factories I only have to be sucessful once. Why would I risk all of it by making droids one by one? MASS PRODUCE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. It doesn't mean you have to lower variety, just make all sorts of droids and mass produce each of them. Mass production isn't a "cookie-cutter" mentality, it's simple common sense.

Can you tell that it burns me up that we still have no friggin clue what we're doing, despite the fact we're at the top of our craft? Sigh...

Oh oops. I see what you're saying. I meant it seemed to me that making things individually, rather than mass producing fit better into DE than it does into other crafting professions. My first attempts at a combat droid told me how "easy" it is lol.
