Thread: I'm looking for a Detonation Adv MSE Damage Calculation

I often get the question of "how much damage does a detonation MSE actually do?" Since I'm neither a smuggler or BH, I'm left at guessing based off the several times I have witnessed their use.

I can make 38 detonation power Adv MSE and 19 detonation power MSEs - I would like to know a minimium and maximium damage to quote for each (and what type of damage it is). I realize armor will reduce the amount of damage - so please provide the damage amounts based on an unarmored target.

Its strange that DE has so many mysterious module ratings

Its a sad state of affairs when you know less about your product then those that you sell it to.

Thanks in advance

Its blast damage, and somewhere around 150-200 damage per point (closer to the 200 end I think)

Blast damage.

I leveled to novice smuggler to test them myself.

On mobs without blast resist, a 35 detonation does about 6-6.5K dmg.
A 17 detonation does about 3-3.5K dmg.

In PvP a 35 detonation does about 1.5K dmg before armor apply. wich make sence with the 75% dmg reduction in PvP.

So, I would say the ratio is about 170 dmg per detonation power point.

Also, on mobs, the closest mob get that damage, the others get random amount (witnessed from 0 to 6K with 35 power).

Pool on witch the damage is done is random.

Hope that help.

I am mostly looking for a formula for detonation max/min damage like those posted on the Combat module ratings. I know we got some mathematics majors inthe profession - lets put some precision to this if possible

Thanks

Having such precision on Detonation module is almost impossible.

On combat rating, we can do calculation because when you ready the droid, you see the damage range of it.
And the formula only allow us to do it before we ready the droid.

With a detonation module, you can only see the damage when they are done, and damage done always has a small part of random.
