I read the new DE plan, de "DE's I need two things from you please" thread and a part of the forum, and I feel something:
1 nowadays, communication doesn't work:
1.1 the DE's repeat always the same things (I dont have to quote them, just read two thread and that's an evidence)
1.2 the DE plan is really really vague and unstructured (between this plan and the coding there is monthss of works)
1.3 a dev ask for some ambiguous questions (the DE plan is devs's plan ? or Sintrosi's Plan ? is it's Sintrosi's Plan: it's twice the same question. if not ... huh where is her plan ?)
1.4 players say it: "Just read the forum, you will get your answers"
1.5 a lot of DE dont agree with the plan, but agree with Sintrosi ... huh ... how it's possible ? players speak to Sintrosi and Sintrosi speaks to devs who do the plan. !?
1.6 this forum is blowing: 162, 229, 239, 62, 60 replies for the biggest threads and 46 new threads for the 30 october ... Sintrosi: I dont blam you, you do your best, but can you really follow all the threads ?!?
2 facts of the DE profession:
2.1 this profession is huge in applications: fight, medical, crafting, role-playing, economy.
2.2 there is a lot of recurent problems to balance: modules restrictions, power of combat droids, dependances for other professions, materials and components, etc.
2.3 and some problems wich cant be solved: DE, a droid handler for fighting or only crafter ? need of combat tanker droids or supporting droids ? etc.
2.4 see all the possibilities through all the players ideas. Droids could be a very rich sub-univers.
3 organisation:
3.1 a simple queue where threads are thrown and disappear in one day is not sufficient.
3.2 a whole tree is necessary, use sub-directories for spliting the rain of threads in categories.
3.3 add a lot more persistent threads for each recurent ideas/problems
3.4 flush/delete unuseful messages in persistent threads so devs dont have to read tones of spam before getting an answer.
3.5 This forum needs a moderator, like DE needs a correspondant.
