For some reason, my R2 stops providing me the ability to heal wounds out in the field. Someone told me it was due to his battery, but some other thread/site I read that batteries do not do much...no clue.

I did give him a new battery and he works again so I guess the advice was good, I had my brother do the same thing, and his droid now is not working again, just 2-3 days after he put in a new battery. (he only plays a few hours a night and his droid is not out but a few minutes at a time if that)

Is it something new with the batteries or some new bug? Or something I am missing.

A second easier to answer question I think...is if I want my existing R2 unit re-colored from the orignal ugly red/grey, can it be done, or do I need to buy a whole new droid?

It comes down to this: Droids no longer recharge automatically when stored in the datapad, and therefore you are now experiencing the true battery life of droids, which is measureable in minutes.

1. Yes you just have to have batteries on hand to recharge them.

2. You can get a DE to color the droid for you if it is fairly new. If it is an older droid the color may not take.
