Thread: IDEAS: Combat Droid System?

Okay, we've beaten this to death, I know. But, now that we have ThunderHeart doing a *great* job of looking at our boards and reading up on us, we ought to compile for ease-of-reading our past ideas about Combat Droids. If you have a post you made awhile ago with your idea, go ahead and cut and paste. However, things to think about...
1) What types of droids could be built? Are they all for public use?
2) What sort of Cert system would govern this? How do you keep uber-powerful droids out of Newbie hands, while still allowing them to be used by the non-combat professions that need them just as much?
3) How do you keep these combat droids from becoming more powerful than Master Creature Handler pets? They are, after all, a combat-pet oriented class, and though they need their own balancing, they *were* intended to be the masters of this. Our public droids need to have some sort of weakness compared to these creatures.
I have not replyied cause I do not havemuch toadd. I had assumed the other DEs were going to jump on these threads. It looks to me as if TH has moved on for a bit and could have decided to wait for Sin.
My thoughts,
1) What types of droids could be built? Are they all for public use?
Most of the droids we have need to be fixed and focused so that a medical droid is just for medical uses. I think the limit of droids should be reviewed unlike CH many droids running around for one person doing tasks should not be a bad thing.
Most Droids should be for public use but it would be nice to have a couple droids for no one other then DE. Liek the protector droid ... a droid that would defend us in battle but have little or not attack.
2) What sort of Cert system would govern this? How do you keep uber-powerful droids out of Newbie hands, while still allowing them to be used by the non-combat professions that need them just as much?
I am going to pass on this question to others that know better.

Again I am not sure.
/Netchan...
I think combat droids should be better than any CH pet these are my reasons
Metal is stronger than meat.
Meat dies once and it is over, metal can be repaired and or recycled.
The cost of resources to build the droids is way more than simply tameing a wild pet, even if you have to killevey critter there three or four times and get killed three or four times doing it.
MDE needs to master 2 professions to be able craft the best droids, CH need only master 2 legs of scout then master CH to tame the best CH pet.
I still do not want to see CH nerfed, i want to see the DE get the much needed respect we deserve!!!
