First off, I am not a DE, nor have I have i ever been a DE. Owning a R5 and working up the crafting tree, I do have quite the appreciation for your profession. With that said, I do not boast any expertise or even great familiarity with your work, but I do have some suggestions that may make your profession of greater use and demand. (Something I'm in support of.)
So, I present for you a few ideas for droids and droid modules.
The housekeeper droid/droid module. Selling this to a player allows them to deploy the droid to their house. By keeping the droid there, the droid reduces the maintenance fee for the house/PA hall by a percent, which is set by the quality of the droid’s housekeeping skill. The droid requires a battery (or some form of maintenance), but the cost of maintaining the droid is a bit less than the amount the droid saves you.
The manager droid. Players could use this on a harvester, and the droid will watch over that harvester and surrounding harvesters within a certain radius. (which is set by the quality of the droid) The droid can be set to send out a daily report to the owner about the Harvester’s remaining maintenance, power, hopper capacity, and will send out an emergency email when the harvester reaches zero power, maintenance, or if the resource being mined is depleted.
The delivery droid/droid module. This would allow a player to give their droid an item (or money) to carry, and also a target player. The droid would then travel to the specified player and allow the player to trade something for the resources it carries. The droid would then return to it’s master (empty, or with something if the targeted player traded in an object). The droid’s skill level would dictate how much weight it can carry. A delivery droid would be a hovering droid, and fairly fast.
The security droid. This droid would be set to a PA hall, but could be programmed with patrol points outside. If they come across a local building which has been attacked or is under attack, an email is immediately sent out to all PA members (and maybe citizens/militia of a Player City) warning them of the attack and giving exact coordinates to the attack.
What are your takes on these?

Thanks but SOE is not interested in fixing the DE profession currently, in fact it would be easier to just add a new profession and hope that most DEs go there to lighten the complaints which is what they're currently planning.

I love the Practicality of these droid ideas. I have thought of similar, but you summed it up wonderfully. Every day droids doind useful things. These would be a great compliment to battle droids .

All of those have already been suggested and are on the list. Well, they're on OUR list. Evidently the Devs pay no attention to our good ideas. ![]()
