Thread: DE Goodies for Publish 6
Well, I had a chat with TH tonight and I got the all clear signal to let out some information about Publish 6 to the community. Everyone needs to keep in mind that all of these items are still subject to testing and aren't 100% guaranteed to make it out with the patch.TH is still trying to find out some info about a few of the concerns I had about the patch notes.
There has been a major outcry coming from some of you for information about the Droid Invasion. This isn't quite what you might be looking for, but it is a sign that there is communication going on between the community and the DEVs. So, without further ado..
- Added general module slot to the advanced Binary Load lifter droid, and both basic and advanced protocol droids.
- Droid storage compartments are now using droid experimentation rather than artisan.
- Droid customization tool now gives droid crafting xp instead of general xp
- Droid socket modules can no longer be plugged into one another.
- Multi-crafting station module droid capability fixed for some cases where one type would over-ride another type.
- Combat-related stats removed from examine windows for non-combat-capable droids
- Item Storage Module 2's now really are that, instead of becoming data storage module 2's during the crafting process.
As I said, TH is still trying to get us a bit more information, such as how many modules can be installed in the BLLs and Protocol droid and clarification about the Socket Cluster fix, but I'm sure that shortly after the patch hits TC we will know this answer. ![]()
Thanks for the head's up. At least we get something.
This is the largest amount of droid related additions/fixes that I've seen since launch. That being said...
I'm still considerably underwhelmed by the amount of "Invasion" that's happened in this patch. Oh well.

Respectfully,
That's cool... baby steps first, we'll learn to run later.
It's nice to see a couple of the core issues there - socket stacking and the BLL have been thorns in our side for ages.
I'm puzzled, though... hasn't multi-crafting station capability already been fixed? I've been selling UberCrafter R3 units (all 4 crafting stations) for quite a while now and no one has said a word about them not working as expected.

I'm wondering this myself. I just hit R3 level a couple of days ago and produced my first "crafting station" R3s, Id hate to be selling something that didnt work.

as a master DE i can say that not a single item in that list really affects me or my business, and should have all been taken care of months ago....
where's the real content -> March
Uhhh... that's it?
I guess I just got myself hyped up and was thinking that the DE class would get fixed opposed to getting a bandaid on it.
Issues that should've been fixed the first month are just being fixed now.

Adding module capabilities to the Binary Load Lifter and Advanced Binary Load Lifter will have a huge affect on sales, at least for me. The BLL is probably the most common droid request I get. (I keep R2s and Probots stocked constantly, so there's no need to request those.) Since it is also by far the most expensive droid we can make, being able to actually provide them to people with functionality built in will be a nice boost to my droid-related income.
I've sold a handful of them in their current state - that's how cool people think they are.
However, I agree with you that the real content isn't likely until March. Fixing droids obviously affects a large part of the core engine in some way, so it's taking them a long time to get it fixed and get everything balanced.
It's GOOD to see that BLLs will finally have some use, advanced versions at least... And basic protocols being able to do something can only be a good thing.
In my opinion, it is now kind of important to press for changing the hard caps on module functioanlity. Right now, 110% is a hard cap for medical modules, 10 is a hard cap for item modules, etc. etc. With the removal of the cluster -> socket problem, the problem is drastically mitigated, and I would probably be willing to lobby for removing hard caps altogether! But to be realistic, I think we now need chassis-specific hard caps for module values.
Let a BLL have a 20 or 30 item cap. Let a surgical droid have a 125% medical cap. Let a MSE courier have a 200 slot data cap. etc. etc. etc.
*sigh* I know, the database...
Thank you for the info, and thank TH.
Did TH purposefully not allow you to mention anything about the Combat Modules? or are there no Combat Droid Relatedaddons coming in the next Publish?
Thislooks like a fix for some problems, like someone said earlier, where is the "Invasion"?
Thanks Drashk,
Good to see at least some of our bug concerns are being addressed. Though most of these seem like quite minor ones. I am encouraged about adding module slots to BLL and Protocol droids, but would prefer just to fix the modules that don't work like repair modules in Repair droids, or storage modules in surgicals.
It would be nice if the added modules were for the socket cluster module. That would make a droid like the BLL really more usefull. One slot would still make it less functional than an advanced MSE.
As for the mutli crafting station issue, there still is a bug where one crafting station in one droid will cancel the effect of one in another droid in the same proximity. I've experienced this myself. Mutliple crafting stations in a single droid seem to be working fine otherwise.
