Droid Engineer Archive

Any friendly neighborhood droid engineer can set you up with a good CL 30 combat droid. They are good at first-strike scenarios, like clearing MOBs, and not so much with guarding you.

In my opinion, there are really only two choices in combat droids: Probot (ranged attack, but lousy in melee) and an astromech model (good melee, currently no ranged capability). Both can be fitted with various other droid functions, like item storage or a private crafting station.

Browse through the DE 101 stickie at the top to get an idea of what droids can do. If you still have questions, hopefully the DE you find can give you some ideas.

And remember that the droid will not prevent you from getting one-shot killed either.

I recommend the R2's Most animals will move to melee position where the probot is weak.

I always carry a droid with me to save me, but Ive now moved to a nice aggro free zone, seen one aggro in about 3 weeks !
