R4's are ugly though... who wants to see a conehead droid sticking out the top of their advanced X-Wing?

I do have some relevant advice too. Put 10 item storage into your astromechs. Many people already have 5 droids for storage purposes and they don't want to give that up for an astromech. If your droids have storage and the other guys don't, you will most likely get the sale.

I had to search around a bit to get my Alt an astromech with storage. It was an R5 droid (I prefer an R2), but at least it wasn't one of those darn coneheaded R4s. It was also the ONLY astromech with storage on the galactic vendor search.

One other thing. I buy droids and FCs at xxx2, xxx3 and at master. I don't seem to need one before xxx2 and the one I get at xxx3 I use until master. IMHO, level 4 astromechs with storage should be your best sellers.

I use R4 chassis for all my astromechs except special orders and for the low level ones (astromech levels 1-3) I just build standard R4s with a data module and sell them for 5k to 7.5k depending on the level. For the higher level ones I use the advanced R4 chassis and put the data module in with an item storage module and sell them for 12.5k to 25k depending on the level.

Since publish 18 you can build "everything but the kitchen sink" droids like an R3 with combat, astromech, autorepair, item storage, etc... I build a couple of those a week and sell them for 50k but the pilot specific astromechs sell far more.
