Whatis their purpose?

Do they only recharge other droids?

Can't you only call one droid at a time?

Power Cores seem a heafty item to be needed in a Power Droid.

Ouch.

Am I wrong, or do Power Droid really serve no purpose? Isn't a Droid repair kit supposed to heal the HAM of a droid or is the only way to heal the mind pool of a Droid is through a Power Droid?

It was my understanding that droids do not survive combat now to be able to heal them.

Much research I have to do. Unfortunatly searches seem to only turn up information which is out of date now.

I believe the repair kits, when they work, will only heal Health and Action. Likewise, droids with repair modules will only heal health and action.

Power droids, and droid batteries, will heal mind.

As far as the issue with droid permadeath making repair irrelevant, droid permadeath is going away.

Ok, if that is true then the Devs will never allow a Repair module to actually work in a Power Droid as that would make a Power Droid TOO good at repairing.

Out of all the professions I have played I have learned that the Devs actively oppose anything they deemas a great item. I wish I could understand why the Devs seem to only want us to make mediocre items.

The repair kits (when working in game)were supposed to heal damage, repair module-equipped droids and power droids heal wounds, there is a difference. What the kits will actually do when working in game remains to be seen on live servers. Anyone on TC able to add anything?

Here is an idea:

Power droids should have the ability to generate power by having low quality resources input into them. Example: You load 100 units of ore, quality = 5, into the input bin and a few minutes later there are 1000 units of energy in the output bin. The lower the quality of the resource the greater the energy production rate.

If you can only call one droid at a time then power droids seem to be of very little use. Maybe if you are grouped with other droid owners it would prove more useful, but with perma-death that's about as likely as the Emperor inviting me over fortea. Haven't grouped much yet with anyone, much less other droid owners, since I have to spend all my time doing survey missions to support my harvesters and vender (getting fired tonight).

you can transer the power droid to a trusted friend or your injured droid, then use the power droid to heal the mind wounds of the damaged droid. If you wanted to be a "service station" you could set up shop outside a popular cantina and charge customers to heal/repair their damaged droid. Personally I just do it for free for the entertainment value of watching "Gronk" waddle around saying *recharged*. Its cumbersome and requires "trust" but power droids can certainly be useful.

Really tho, DE's should be able to call more than one droid out at a time, if balance is the concern, limit it to one combat droid and one non-combat etc. for now. Until the true battle droids are introduced, then I want my group of battle droids in wedge formation saying "Roger Roger".
