Thread: Need help with droid configs
My wife and I are looking to purchase a pair of droid. We know what we'd like them to do for us, but are unsure of how to ask for it. Could anyone help with how to configure them and if it's possible to set them up this way?
R4 unit with: weapon/droid crafting, repair module, item storage, & max armor
R2 unit with: same
Item storage we'd like maxed. Don't know if the R4 unit could hold the full 10 items but could it do 6? This will be for basic trap/camp material storage.
I have a feeling the R4 will need to advanced, but what about the R2 unit? Just trying to put together a shoping list to give to our DEs so there's no misunderstandings.
Thanks in advance.
Yes, you'd need an advanced R4 to hold the three modules. A standard R2 can also hold three modules (with the help of a socket cluster).
I'd recommend speaking with your Droid Engineer about your needs. If you express a preference for desired modules and body styles, there's no reason your engineer can't spend a few minutes going over all of your available options.
As for item storage capacity, I am fairly certain that this has nothing whatsoever to do with the droid, but is, as all droid capabilities seem to be, tied to the level of item storage module placed in the droid. I don't know of a reason that an R4 couldn't hold 10 items, it would simply need to have been crafted with a higher-end item module. Precisely the same holds true for the R2.
You need an R4 advanced with the 3 modules listed, and a basic R2 with the 3 modules listed. As to storage capacity, I'm pretty sure a level 4 storage module will store 6 items.
A warning about max armor though, even with max armor, these droids won't be able to take more than 2 hits from a nuna. With 40-60 HAM, no amount of armor will keep them safe. I usually cringe when people say storage and armor on the same droid.
