The add-a-use thread.

These things are currently useless right?

Well what do you think about setting a patrol point at your house and one at a harvester. Then the load-lifters can make the run to the harvesters to collect the resources.

The same for Power Droids to add power to the harvesters.

Data terminals could be given a use to monitor harvesters and add credits to them.

Random thoughts.

Good ideas -- of course the droids would have to be un-attackable by mobs out in the wild... either that, or they should be able to be built to defend themselves against creatures that con red to most of us...

That sounds like a great use for the BiLLs. They're meant to haul stuff anyway, why not resources? Program them to pick up and drop off at your house, eh? I like the sound of it.

From my experience with my own Power Droid, they are pretty slow and even though they're a walking battery, their own battery doesn't last as long. Maybe mine was made with a crappy battery, I dunno. But using them to supply harvesters & generators with power is a good idea, too.

well having those big open palms realy call out "use me to move to your next house" id like to see them with 100+ storage capacity, and as a persional preferance, have a crate appier in their hands when anything is stored.

HAH... Load Lifters are like hummers... you have one show off. No other droid attracts attention like a CLL-88. I have mine patrol around my shop when I'm in. People constantly ask when I have it in town what's that do? I answer it attracts attention and it happens to be named after my business. I got mea giant yellow walking advertisement that I can set on patrol missions around theed while I do business, heal, or whatever.

For a small fee of 50k, you too can own one of these fine tanks. Someday you know they will actually have a function and be worth at least 100k, so people better buy em now I say.

The reason to own a CLL-88 is the same as owning a big fat house... It's because you can.

Or they could be defendable by one or two good combat droids, in formation.

Don't forget that an advancedbinary load lifter can be the most heavily armored droid in the game. They can likely take a good deal of punishment, which makes them well-suited to harvester runs.

What's the HAM on that thing, anyway?

Of course, stacked armor maxes out a with the stats of a single Armor 6 module. So I'm willing to bet that no matter how much armor you place on a BLL, it will top out at medium/40% just like any other droid.
