I am a DE with BP3 already... right now, I'm starting to consider building some actual droids (rather than just grinding endlessly.. hehe). I bypassed Master Artisan, but have Artisan 4,0,4,4with the hope that I'll be able to outsource my needs to my friends and save myself some skill points. Here's the core of my question:

Do you think this is a good move? Do I really lose out not having MA? Are there master DE's out there who successfully bypassed MA with partners or friends?

That is a good question, Im both master DE and MA, I would like desparatly to dump MA for some skill points. I feel starting out I would get MA so its not such a pain in the ass.

Right now I getting my factory ready to start pumping out all the MAdriod componets I need, and then just hope that I can afford to out source if I need to.

I would think in the future it will be easier to pick up crates of the needed componets from MA's because there will be more out there.

My brother is a MA in the game, on the same server... so, we're hoping to work together... he's going Architect while I'm already factoring some merchant skills into my template.

He builds my MA components and architect stuff, I build the droids with the MA stuff and sell his and my product.

I'm just >>hoping<< I'm not missing out on some sort of skill bonus cause I don't have MA.

If you've got a good friend who can keep you supplied and you are comfortable doing that then I don't see any reason why you couldn't dump Master Artisan. As a DE you will find that you need a lot of GP modules and EM modules (advanced droid brains consuming them like candy, but other components using quite a few as well). Any probot you make is going to need Microsensors, another Master Artisan item, but again, as said, if your friend can keep you well supplied in all of those I see no reason why you would need to be a Master Artisan yourself,

Personally, even though I am a Master Artisan I don't create EMM or GP Modules while I am crafting droids. Instead I simply have a few crates of factory created modules that I keep about and when I need a module or two (or four) I peel them off. Granted, I also have no problems keeping myself stocked since I know when I am running low and just make more, but if your friend is reliable you probably should be able to avoid that as well.

I just made novice DE and I'm alsi a Master Artsan. I just started making MA components in my factory. If anyone on Flurry needs MA only components just send me an e-mail in game. I will sell individual componenets for 100c and Micro sensor suites for 500c. I migh teven put some on my vendor tonight.

I'm a MA mostly because I'm working solo for the moment. Eventually I'll join a PA, probably after hitting MDE, and then hopefully I'll be able to sell back some support skills and specialize further.

I tried sticking it out as just DE and outsourcing all my MA requirements to others.... I'd find that crates of EMMs and GP mods would run out much quicker than I thought. And, it took sometimes days to find a source when I had a customer ready to drop a load of cash...

I decided to pick up MA, make 50 crates of each, then surrender the skills back so that I can try CH and BE also...

If you are Seriously thinking of Master DE then I would say yes to MA, but otherwise just buy the MA stuff. I am a MA and Plan on Mastering DE then Weapons. This uses all of my points with a few points to be able to architect a little and armor smith a little.

If you really want to plan out your career just go to Allahkazam.

I'm both MA and MDE.I have found that Architects, Weaponsmiths, and Armorsmiths need less parts from MAs than MDEs and I end up having to supply them. Right now you might not be producing many droids because demand is low, but when the MDE system is fixed and you are producingbetween 5 - 25 droids a day you will need MA.I say this becausewhen creating Adv brains you are going to end up using multiple MA parts and only able to produce 24 brains (if your lucky)in the factory at a time. This means you have to produce at least two batches of adv brains per week to keep up with demand. I recommend that any DE stock up on as much supplies that you can so that when the new droids come out you will be prepaired.
