OK, I'm going to be doing the droid tanking thing, for the moment, anyways. I've heard about droids being able to heal their own damage. How does that work?

All you have to do is turn on autorepair before a fight from the droid's radial menu. Batteries last 30 minutes when A-R is turned on, so bring a crate. If you have a buddy xping with you and he uses one of these, their heals are AoE and they stack to heal each other. So 2 100 rated a-r droids within 30m of each other heal for 200 every 10 seconds.
The best droids for autorepair tanking are:
Adv. R3 w/5 autorepair modules + 1 combat module (4500 HAM/100+ autorepair/100+ combat)
Adv. LE Repair Droid w/2 autorepair modules + 1 combat module (6000 HAM/40+ autorepair/100+ combat)
Adv. Probot with 5 autorepair modules (3200 HAM/100+ autorepair/minimum damage)
The advantages/disadvantages of each are:
R3 - with 4500 HAM to start and all that autorepair, it can stand up to a low level xp mob for a while while you shoot at the mob. It heals itself up nicely.
LE Repair - with 6k HAM, it can take a good beating, but with only a 3 module capacity with one required to be combat in order to make the thing fight, it's autoheal ability is very low. Good droid stims can counteract this disadvantage and the droid is very useful against harder hitting mobs
Probot - The advantage is that all 5 modules can be autorepair, no combat needed to get this thing to start a fight, so the rating can be as good as an R3. Disadvantages are lower HAM and a tendency to back away from the mob to get into ideal range for it's blaster. You might end up chasing your mob around a bit, but most times this bot will stand in at melee range for you.
Price of these droids vary widely from server to server, but most are going to be in the 50-80k range.
