Just thought I should put another 2 cents worth into everyone's "pricing scheme."
Don't forget when you do factory runs, you lose a set of resources in making the schematics. For people doing things by hand, you needto also accountfor any mistakes (crafting failures or stupid mistakes). Make sure to at least add an additonal 10-15% to your costs.
Too often I hear about people who sell things at "cost" because they think that they can sell large volumes and their small profit margin will correspond to a lot of money. You really need to make sure you include the "failure costs" and "schematic costs."
I really never saw someone post this before, but it should be something to consider. This is especially true for those crates of Bomber Droids. If you sellanR3 Bomber Droidfor 100k (to keepthe mathsimple). Selling a 5 item crate for 500k means that you are losing the potential for 600k. (It is really difficult to get a one batch run of these buggers because it requires so many damn factory runs just to make them.) What do you guys think?

I think if you're going to look at it this way, you can't set the price per crate higher than you would for a one-off times the number of item ... you have to increase the cost for one.

Yeah that is true... in either case, I just thought wanted to put this into the "hopper" for people to consider.

I know I offer a discount on crated items vs. non crated myself. I think of it as a bulk item discount as I would get at a store when buying something in bulk. For instance I sell R3 Bomb droids ("Jedi Go Boom" is what they I call them since that is when they are mostly used) Singles go for 52.5K each and crates of 5 go for 250K offering a discount of 12,500 per crate. Not a large discount but it's a discount that does add up over a while when purchasing items. (and yes I've heard that I already have them priced pretty low
).
Factorycosts definately need to be considered though as has been pointed out quite a few times as well as your personal time. As Straker pointed out you really can't price items through a direct CPU as there is too much to take into consideration.
