Thread: Data module, Pilot rating Vs D-storage?

I saw a list a while back and cant find it..

can some one tell me what the D-pad size is for lvl rating? i made some sweet D-pads and they boosted outta my pilot cert rating Soo im guessing that the Number rating like 3 or 5 or what ever is what the pilot cert rattings are taken from.

But My Q is what number tells you how many D-pad items you can fit in? like is a 3 at 50% less than a 3 at 70%? and what are the hard caps, before rating jumps to next lvl?

I just made 50 of each,, /sigh atleast my lvl 6 ers i can keep, made 100 of them.. remaking the others is not a big deal.. But i may just have to remakelvl ones if the ones that boosted into the new range have decent size d-pads

From the DE 101:

Level 1 Data Module = 20 Storage Capacity = Novice Pilot
Level 2 Data Module = 40 Storage Capacity = xxx1 Pilot
Level 3 Data Module = 70 Storage Capacity = xxx2 Pilot
Level 4 Data Module = 110 Storage Capacity = xxx3 Pilot
Level 5 Data Module = 125 Storage Capacity = xxx4 Pilot
Level 6 Data Module = 150 Storage Capacity = Master Pilot

Also, if you add multiple data modules to one droid, they will stack. This will result in a higher rating than if you use just one module. The scale listed above (and provided in the DE 101 FAQ) is for one module in a droid.

Yea, those are base stats but exp can change them... I have 1's that act like 2;s 5's that are 6's blah blah... Im currious on the number or xp % that boosts it to the next lvl which is NOT in the faq : )

like does a 65% lvl 3 stay lvl 3 but a 66% make it a lvl 4?? Im trying to figure this out with out making lots of toss away drodis,, though i guess i could test them in mouse..

There's a chart, I think its in the FAQ, that has a list of the module rating that corresponds to module level for all 1-6 level modules. So for example, if a module rating of 3 corresponds to level 2, then any module experimented up to module rating of 3 will be level 2. I know that 11 is the module rating for 6, not sure about the rest. Anywhere inbetween those numbers will result in the stats of the highest full level you're at. So for example, a rating of 1 and 2 will both yield a result of level 1 module (and all stats associated with it). So there's no way you can make one level x "better" than any other level x.

Experimentation/stat numbers are in the FAQ

Ok here is the breakdown, its in the 101, but it is kind of hard to find.

Basically each level (1-6) has 2 numbers for a rating. You can start out making a level 1, butif you get a 3 rating, they will be level 2's. For example.

Level / Rating

1 / 1-2

2 / 3-4

3 / 5-6

4 / 7-8

5 / 9 - 10

6 / 11+

It seems harder then it is, just remember that each level has 2 numbers. Meaning if you want a level 3 Module ensure that the rating falls into the 5 or 6 rating. There is no functional difference between a the 2 numbers, as long as they fall in the right catagory.

This actually can be usefull, I always try and experiment lower levels up, it saves resources, especially if you can use less EGM's.

Level / Rating

1 / 1-2

2 / 3-4

3 / 5-6

4 / 7-8

5 / 9 - 10

6 / 11+

Acualy after some testing, those numbers are not set in stone.. there is a % that is the break point as well.. some that where in the number range with a high % and it bumped it into the next rating unless i was just off cuase i was using extremly good resorces..

My data modules

lvl 1=3

lvl 2 = 5

lvl 3 = 7

lvl 4 = 9

lvl 5 = 11

lvl 6 = 12

Im going to do some testing later to find out if there truely is a % for break point or i was just over maxing on assembly : ) Time for about 50 mice to die for a good cause.. I also want to see if a certain data lvl, with a higher % though same number has more storage than the same number with a lower % Too bad you couldnt sell broken droids to jawa.. that would be a great RP thing. Dont make um give you lots of cash, just a small amount or perhaps some neat loot or a badge,,

My bet is there's some rounding going on. We know that droid modules like to store lots of hidden decimal places in their ratings, it could be that 2.7 or something like that will really get you to level 3... As far as higher storage for a higher % of the same level, I've never seen any evidence that would even suggest this, so I do doubt it (doesn't mean its impossible... but would be a very tiny percentage margin, like 1-2%)

I'm 99.9% sure that you don't get any more storage for a higher %. Thise numbers are fixed upon module level (experimented or otherwise.)

Are you sure about your numbers? When I made all my JTL modules, I used the 2 number per level rule and it was never off. For example, I know my level 6's come out with an 11 rating, which according to you would be a level 5.

Unless I am misreading what you are saying. If you are saying that you start out making a level 1 module, but get a 3 rating. Then yes I agree, but your end module isn't a level 1 module, it is a level 2 module then.

That was the point of my post. I wasn't saying that a level 1 will give you a rating of 1 or 2. I was saying if you wanted to ensure a level one module, you needed a number 1 or 2. They may seem like the same thing but they are not.

It's important to understand this because let's say you want to make a bunch of level 3 Astromechs, but your modules come out with a 7 rating. You label them level 3 Astromech. You will have a bunch of angry customers, because they are actually level 4 data modules and will require a level 4 cert.

If I'm not mistaken, any success over 89% will produce a module that functions as one level higher.

A Level 1 Module with a rating of 1 - 2 will produce a module that functions as a Level 1 Module. A Level 1 Module that has a rating of 3 will produce a module that fuctions as a Level 2 modules.

I think the issue here might be that the chart does not look correctly because it is being interpruted as meaning that a Level 1 Module can only produce a rating of 1 - 2 and a Level 2 module can only produce a rating of 3 - 4. This is not the case. The ratings are listed to reflect what the minimum and maximum rating of a module can be in order to perform the function of the level listed. Any rating above 2 for a Level 1 module will result in the module having a Level 2 function.

You don't need to put them in a ship, you can still test their data storage capability.
