Thread: low on power...

Sorry if this has already been a topic but I am no Droid Engineer - just a user of a probot, searching for "droids" and "batteries" didn't yield a usable result and you can read only so many threads...
I am a Squad-Leader and as such I use a combo of Spineflap-Handmaidens and a Probot which I am grouped with to get squad-leader-experience when I am just a short while online and therefore not able to lead a group. I have now noticed an enormous increase in battery-consumption for my probot: He seems to be constantly low on power - even if I don't use him to engage my target - just having it out for a while suffices to drain his energy.
Do DEs know about this? Is it intended to boost sales in batteries?

We know about it alright. As the most frequent droid users of all, we are hit by it quite a lot.

Here's the story: Your droid used to recharge while in the datapad. So you never used to get annoyed by low power that much, since you could always just store the droid and take it out again.

When that was fixed, ohhhh, the howling began. The problem is essentially that droids use their charge WAY too fast, and this is compounded by the fact that there is no way whatsoever to determine the current state of the droid's charge.

Taking a well-deserved vacation from his successful Droid Engineering business, Master Rho can be found puttering around the galaxy.

Mine still recharge when I store them

You sure about that Castorius? Have you tried storing your droid at low power, and calling it out again? I for one have tried this and notice it does not recharge in the datapad anymore.

Honestly I never have -- I always store it whenever it gets wailed on in combat, then call it out again after about an hour. However, I have never once received a "*Low Power*" message from my droid, hence I assumed it was getting recharged in the datapad...

I have a surgical droid with a medical module that uses battery power. If I store the droid with the store command, I seem to recharge it every once in a while. If I target the droid, and store it with the radial menu, I never seem to have to charge it.

I *always* store using the radial dial in my datapad

Thank you for your detailed answer! This issue is nothing I want to complain about BTW, I was just curious.
I regret that I don't know more about your profession (that has even more problems than we squad-leaders have and hence deserves my deepest sympathy) but I am glad that there are people who are willing to provide information.
