Weird, my post didnt go in.
I bought a med droid with a F&C crafting station in it many moons ago. How can I tell how good the station is? Or does it matter? Are they all the same.
Thanks.

We don't know, except that TH has said that higher numbers (numbers which you CAN'T SEE on a droid) means fewer criticals.
I'll say this: I prefer to use my old R2, made before I was a master, to a 38.2, 38.6 or 41.... something crafting station. I find I personally get more 'amazing' success with the droid. YMMV.

The W/D/G (weapon/droid/general) crafting module in my R2 Adv yields identical results to using a 43+ crafting station. I've used both extensively and can emphatically state that the two seem to be literally identical.
I'm guessing that all other crafting modules would yield the same results.

Interesting. And i was about to pay 30k for a 45+ station for my house.
Anyway, you might want to check a thread on the Artisan forum about private crafting stations. Some are concerned there is a bug in these creating higher crit fails! Seems though that droids with crafting stations are not affected, (for once!) I have to agree though. I seem to rarely get Crit fails with my R3, but at my shop with the stationary crafting station I do seem to get more. I have have to experiment on this one some.

First, you have to realize the effectiveness of Crafting Station real effect on the game is still Voodoo. Even in this post, we have claims both way that one is better than the other. That said, I think the number rating for your crafting station is between -14 and 14. When you make a personal housing crafting station without optionals, the range of rating is -14 to 14. When we make droid crafting stations, there are no optional components, and the effectiveness number ranges from -14 to 14, so you can guess that effectiveness is the same as rating. Nobody knows if that rating affects anything, and I'm inclined to say that it doesn't, but I experiment all my droid crafting stations up to at least +6, but sold many -10 station as I was developing my skills.
