No, you do not need to be a DE to own a AT-ST...but you have to be Imperial with a TON of faction points. You can own up to 3 at-sts

There is a change coming soon when you will only be able to have 1 AT-ST apparently

(although its getting nerfed at the same time and the opinion seems to be that you wont even want 1 afterwards......)

AT-STs and Droid Engineers have nothing in common (unless the DE is also an Overt Imp, that is).

Being a DE has no effect on using an AT-ST.

The only thing that AT-ST's and DE's have in common is that the official SWG strategy guide has a picture of an AT-ST at the beginning of the sectiondiscussing DE's.

ATST cost 9450 FP as a human, you need to be overt to call them, and with the new patch you can only call one. And only in PvP as far as i know. So no more kraythunts
