Alrighty guys a thread I posted the other on a simple and (I think) logical way to handle possible droid certs for *gasp* combat droids is being generaly ignored..

I would apprecitate it if yall would go give it a gander and post your thoughts/refinement to what I have down

Here is what I fear.

The devs have posted their "plan" - and never followed up on it.

Thousands of posts were made, in favor of DE-only droids, in favor of a cert system that spanned all classes, in favor of pure-crafting DE's.

Though many didn't agree, the discussions were good and rational, and many good ideas were born of the discussions.

Recently, a certain dev mentioned something about "have you seen those clear-topped R2's". To me, this indicates that the devs have their plan, and are not going to change it.

Personally, I am for some sort of compromise between the DE-only and the pure-crafting DE camps in the disucssion. But given that the first round of combat droids are scheduled for the January publish, this means that they must be coded up within a few weeks to give time for the TC testing. This means that implementation is already underway.

cert systems almost identical to yours were all proposed over a month ago, near the end of october after TH asked for input. Its all been done to death already, and if they are going to do some kind of cert system theyve already decided on it a while ago.

Yeah, that was kind of the point of my answering post, Eric.

I personally think that his cert system is simple and elegant, and I like to see people fighting to the bitter end - persiverence is a trait of a DE

And when they give us 3P0's with flame throwers, if we keep the discussions alive, well, we'll at least be able to say, we told ya so. Small consolation, I admit...

Of course, if the Dev's would just come and give us their response to our feedback on the Dev Plan thread, it would make things a lot easier...

and the cert system almost identical to his is a little simpler that I am remembering, just one cert less

probot for everyone, one droid at novice elite and one at master elite. and they already have two droids in the game we cant make

and TH's comment about clear dommed r2s, I am sure he just means r3's and dont know they are r3s *shudder*

Yeah, I am sure he did too...

Heh heh... I seem to remember he said at one point that he owned a medical mouse and no probot for his droid inventory - wonder if the cluster thing will be un-done when his MSE droid needs replacement, and his character has to shell out for an advanced R3 to have all the same functionality as the MSE did...

Anywho I know this is and OLD topic but a big reason I waited this long to post my "idea" (simple as it is).. Is just that.. I want to make sure the Dev's know we are still thinking about this issue and that untill we get an specific laid out plan (simmilar to how he did CH's). We are gonna contiue to pester him to death.. And who knows, yall know how they tinker with stuff at a drop of a hat..
