Any (at least before this patch anyhow) droid could have a crafting station of any type put into it, as well as med use, Datapad storage (which is essentially useless right now) and 10 item storage. Ranges in priceing is usually 2-60k depending on if you want all of what I've mentioned and possibly repair built in (you can highlight another droid with wounds and have them repair the wounds), or you can just buy a mouse-droid with a crafting station built into it...

I use 'em all the time, they need batteries for power, and they now (possibly fixed in this patch, but I wouldn't count on it) chew thru batteries like it's going out of style depending on what your doing with them and if they were stored. Batteries are cheap however, and you can buy them in crates of what is it? 25 max? With 4 charges on each. I'd say the average is about 10-15mins out before I have to recharge them, works just like feeding a pet.

It will not "die" due to not being charged, it will however not function as a crafting station, give themedical modifier (if installed), or attack (if probot) if it's not charged. You can only have 1 droid out at time at this point, and they function like every other pet in the game, ie you must be in a city, public structure (certain ones), or a camp to call it from the datapad.

They lose their "customization" over time stored/called, this is purely asthetic in nature however....if the droid was painted it will fade, then go completely. Just another bug, I really hope the way it functioned yesterday is not the way it's intented, as it will go completely in like a day or two if your lucky. This does NOT affect the crafting station or anything else for functionality of the droid, simply it's looks if it was even customized in the first place.

Hope that helps,

Yasha has touched most points already. You may want to take a look on Skeths Droid Owner Manual here for additional info:

I apologize for my newbieness but I've never owned a droid so I have some questions.

I am a crafter and I understand you can have a crafting station built into a droid. I'm interested in this because I don't have a house and it would be cool to have a crafting station that followed me around. What kind of droids can a crafting station be built into? Are they expensive?

You can store a droid in your datapad, right? And then pull it out whenever you need it. Is there any penalty for doing that (like vehicles, that decay when you call them)? Otherwise it's very much like carrying around a crafting station, isn't it?

What further costs/maintainence are involved? Do you have to power a droid? If so how much does it cost? Does is use power while stored? I'm a casual player and often don't log on for days. Will it die for lack of maintainence/power while I'm gone if I don't constantly fill it up?

I basically want a "Droid Owner's Manual" so I can figure out if it's worth it for me to get one.
