When the customization fades does the droid become useless or does it still work?

I hate to call my droids because they loose 1 pt. each time I call them.

what is the point in the # for customization (lives)?

I'm not a DE and the ones I talked to on radiant don't know the answer either.

and why are the forums load speed acting like a 12k dial up modem. its not me, im on cable and other wesbs load quick, its just SWG forums.

The "customization" refers to your droid's paint job, basically.

It will fade over time (by design).

Well, I guess I'm really not surprised by this. Within the last 1-2 months I've noticed an increasingly number of DE's appearing (around the time when they started mentioning new combat droids btw...but I'm sure that's purely coincidence, heh) and doing nothing but race to Master without spending even a little time learning about the profession.

Yeah, the forums have been really slow during the days...but not the nights oddly enough. I'm on a cable modem myself, and the loading time on pages is maddening. I don't even bother going on the forumsanymore until after 6pm,I usually have no problems at all then.

Oh, and if you have any more questions, send me a /tell or an in-game e-mail. I'd be happy to answer them for you.

I was wondering if there is a command someone can use to allow me to customize their droid? When you try to customize it, it says you do not have permission to customize blah blah blah. Is trading the droid the only way to customize a droid? If it is, oh well, but if there is a command out there...Does anyone know it?

the command should be /consent <your name>

be sure the ower /unconsent afterwards. Otherwise your list will fill up and no one else can give you consent

No its not the normal what does "Droids customization fades completely mean" I know what it means.

I had a guildmate ask me for a Paint job for his new droid, but he wasn't on the same planet at the time and told me to put it on his vendor. Does anybody have any experience with giving the Customization kit to a NonDe to paint his own droid. I gave him some but said I do not gaurantee that he will be able to use it.

What would be nice, is if we could break out the droid from the deed form, customize it, toss in any handy free starter batteries and such, and then redeed it after we've tested, tweaked and painted the droid. This is a moot point for those folks we will deliver to in person, as we'd just transfer from the datapad, but for those we don't see, it adds the extra step of finding a DE online with a customization tool.
