Thread: Instead of what is wrong, what is working?

Not that I dont think you need fixes, trying to gather useful information digging through the its broken threads can be trying. As a player who is ignorant to most of the droid field, can some of you take a few of your time and post some useful things that droids can do and be used for. I want to use droids, I want to buy them, I just need to know what I can use them for kinda. Is there even a remote chance that they can have some value in combat, if so, what do you do to make it even slightly viable in combat? Not looking for an AT/ST droid type thing that is in god mode, but mainly is it financially viable to use a probot as something to help turn the tide of a battle?

There are a number of things that Droids do well.

1) Portable private crafting stations. The test data suggests that any droid crafting station is at the very least as good as the best architect made ones. And you can pull it out and craft anywhere, not just in your home.

2) My Adv probot with full armor, tanked a plains hunter for me the other night, It really impressed some people who saw it.

3) Level 6 medical module can be used to help healers heal 10% better than they could in a camp or hospital. And once again, can be done anywhere (except a cantina)

4) If it weren't for droids and DE's, Bounty Hunters would really be SOL with no way of completing their training or making money

Anybody else have anything to add?

10 decay free storage spaces, as well as a means of getting around faction alignment trading issues (just put the items in the droids inventory and use the transfer command to transfer the droid). Walking billboards can be a nice use too.

What works? Here is my list. Keeps me really busy too!

1) Med 6 modules. I get orders all the time for droids with these.

2) Crafting stations, now even multiple ones in single droid!

3) Crates of Seekers/Arakyd probes - Sell easily

4) 10 Item storage that holds items and prevents decay on these stored items

5) Data Storage - Great for crafters, especially for Armorsmiths. I'm told that one set of schematics for a set of Composite armor takes 57 schematics! I made three droids each with 150 data storage for my armorsmith.

6) Droid repair. Works, though very limited and only heals Damage (black bar), not white bar health

7) Droid frames as decoration. Many players like to decorate their houses with these! Very "Star Warsy"

8) And last but not least: PROBOTSwith max armor!! I still love these guys. Recent upgrade was seemingly minor, but has been a hot seller too. Great as tank. I was able to battle a storm trooper with HAM of 3500 while my trusty probot held his attention. I even got incapped, but was able to heal, then resume the battle while the probot ground down.
