Combat droids. We want to add Droid Modules that will convert many droids and give them combat abilities. ONLY Droid Engineers will be able to make and use these modules. Setting expectations, these changes involve a lot of people and its not something that’s going to happen fast."

If i read that right then the the new combat droid will only be used by DEs.... IF thats the case still not much flow of $$ for the us DEs... Why not make some new combat droid that any one can use?

Because they hate the fact that everyone has pets now and are trying to cut them down. Adding more pets that everyone can use isnt something theyre gonna do, as much as we want them to

in the films and books everyone and their uncles have a droid or at least access to a huge variety of droids....thing is i only remember seeing one creature handler.

But not everyone and their brother had a combat droid, in fact I only remember seeing them in the stupid episode 1 and 2 films. Which sucked b/c Lucas ran out of authors to steal ideas from (from Herbert to Asimov, Lucas is as unoriginal as every other auther out there) and actually had to make up his own storyline this time (shudder).

Without giving everyone access to combat droids the DEs just arent going to be in demand, sorry. Unless they work out some awesome new entertainment droids or something else along those lines its just not gonna happen.

There are only 2 things that would settle 99% of the beefs that DE's have ,they are:

1. Creating 1 or 2 new effective combat droid models that anybody can use.(exploding MSE's is a joke)

2. The ability for anybody to have atleast 2 droids out regardless of type of droid

Those 2 things hands down would have caused the DE profession to have to make a emergancy trip to the bathroom.

No other issue compares to these two items,,nothing,,period.

90% of the ideas i read in the DE forum are just plainoverworking the plumbing.

Vaulnuu, I think the one main point you missed is that we want our droids to have a purpose like they were meant to. Combat is nice, yes, we'd love that. We'd love to be able to call more than one droid but you know what...give ourdroids a purpose and we'll be happy! Make a power droid what it is meant to be, the repair droid the same...binary load lifters another waste of resources without a purpose.

No offense but I'd rather have droids that had a purpose before I could call two or more. Combat is a biggie, but I'd put the second thing we DE's want as Droids that did what they were meant to do!

What I'm getting at is there is all kinds of ideas on giving our droids purpose,you see them every day posted in the DE forum ,have droids survay,sample,go out and recover resorces from harvesters,recharge harvesters,translate languages,the list goes on for purpose.In addition to the search for purpose people want some of the small iritating bugs fixed,LE's that repair,med droids that heal on there own with out initiative from player,BLL's that hold items,, stuff like that .

The Fact is ,the shotgun approach is not working,,its all to obvious from the Dev post via Sintrosi on proposed additions/changes,that they really dont know what will make us happy.Well i know what will make me happy and i know what will make over 50% of the players happy of all combat profesions,,consider this, well over half the players are geared for combat class's what do we have that they need ,,,,,,Weak Probots,,its a running joke. The other 50% of customers(Crafters of Verious Sorts are already happy with the droids we make now)

All other issues areminor bugscompared to the 2 I mentioned ,,in effect we have no class of droids with a combat purpose,,,probot + DZ70 = 0 combat class.Having 2 droids out regardless of class of player or droid is very important to the sales of droids and it addresses poblems some de's have with being able to sell droids.

The reason I am and will stay very specific on what i think the droid trade needs is because if we dont become more to the point on what we want ,we will keep getting posts from thundar and Q like what we got the other day,,exploding MSE's. Item 4 of Q's post flat out asked what kind of combat droids we want,,if they dont get alot of specific answers they will decide for us and give us some watered down combat droid like the probot just shorter range this time,

We are losing good DE's every day on all servers because we havnt got much if any attention to our problems,,the smaller our community gets the further back on the devs to do list we go inrelation to more popular trades,if we cant nail down 2 items we want in unison or close to it we are just an irretating background noise that gets a little oil instead of real repair.Just saying we want more droids with purpose isnt going to cut it,,the devs are asking us for specifics and getting astack of hay.

Iagree with you in every thing you said,,we need all those things,but we have to spoon feed this stuff to the DEVs.
