Thread: non CH looking for droid
With the proposed reduction in non CH pet levels, the advanced probot is starting to look more attractive again. The only droind I have right now is my surgical droid. Since he never goes in to combat, I have a couple of combat related questions.
First off, how do you heal a droid? Is there a way to do that during combat, like the stimpacks you use on pets, or do you have to wait for the end?
What happens to a droid whose battery runs down during a fight?
I understand that you can only have one droid out at a time. So if you have a repair droid, is there any way to use it to repair another droid of yours, or do you have to get some one else to do it for you?

For the healing of droids, right now damage is only healed over time (the upside to this is that since a probot relies on armor more than HAM it doesn't take it as long as creatures to heal naturally).
If a droids battery dies it will still obey the follow and stay commands (I think the stay command, been a while since I used it) and will defend itself just fine if attacked. this just prevents it from being issued new attach/guard commands and you can't use a medical module equiped. the crafting station is still functional.
Right now you have to have someone else repair your droid, so you need to find either someone else with a repair droid or carry one around yourself and transfer it to a friend. from what I've found though probots don't tend to take wounds too fast, so its nothing that can't wait till you get into town.

It is my understanding that a probot counts as a CL 16 pet. So even if I don't use it to fight much, it sounds like it would still be useful to group with at the mission terminals to get better missions.

You can heal droids with stim packs still, like a normal pet. Unless this got nerfed recently you can still heal during combat this way. It's treated as a normal pet. Wounds are a bit different and that is the answer to your question below....

If your droid runs low on power during a fight, you'll need to pop a new one in. What happens is this: The droid will fight the mob if he has power until one of them falls. If he hits low power during the fight, it won't show until he is done and you issue the command to kill the next mob. If that happens, radial and hit the recharge command. If it doesn't show up..run like a durni and return later to pop a new battery in =)

At this time, no. We can only call one droid at a time though that is being looked at being changed, most of us won't hold our breath as a DE for it to happen anytime soon =). But you will need a droid with a repair module to repair your droid for you to clean up any "wounds". When they allow us to call more than one droid, you'll only be allowed one combat droid though so make sure it doesn't double as your repair droid lol. Other than that, they will either return Droid Repair kits to the game and fix them so they work, or you'll need someone with a droid that has a repair module in it to repair it. If you are on Wanderhome Galaxy/Server just shoot me a tell and I'll repair it for ya.

Can your probot have a repair module, and be used to repair itself?
Yes and no, in that your probot CAN have a repair module (presuming it's an Advanced-model probot), but it cannot heal itself.
A team of probots owned by two people, on the other hand, can be quite effective, with each able to repair the other.

You sure about this, I've never seen this happen or be able to do it. I've tried both regular and pet stimpacks.

I cant, I heard you can heal vitality with pet vitality packs but never tried.
Yes, the vitality packs do work, and I tried again today, you can not heal damage with stimpacks, or wounds with woundpacks.
