I saw nothing in the patch notes about this, but my droids no longer recharge when stored in the datapad, they still say "low power" when I pull them out. Anyone else experiencing this? Have the devs responded on this bug?

The devs don't respond to DE bugs. We are never told just what is and is not intentional. I figure the non-recharge is intended, and the usage time is 'as designed', but in need of serious tuning.

How do you store your droids?

Chs had a problem with pets not healing in the data pad. Then someone noticed that if they targeted the pet and used the radial menu to store the pet, instead of using the store command that they taught the pet, the healing returned.

It may be the same thing with droids. I have not tested it rigorously, but if I store my med droid from the radial menu, I don't seem to have to use a battery as often.

Its not a bug, droids aren't supposed to respond to be stored anymore except to heal themselves. This is meant to booster the droid battery industry...and it has. I've sold over 1000 droid batteries so far.

Yes I believe this is intentional and, if we're all honest, it a good thing.

It is not a good thing. I can make my droid batteries myself so that is not a problem, but it terrible annoying having to recharge often.

Many already question the usability of using droids (at least probot). This issue push it even further.

It also look like battery life time is shorter than before.

I don't mind not recharging while in datapad but batteries should last longer. Make it possible to experiment on life time.

Well I never comented on battery life - only recharging in the datapad ;-)

From what I have read on the various threads about this, the no charge on the datapad was an intentional change, and was documented somewhere, as I found out about it from a friend of mine who read the post on these boards about it a couple days before it actually went live

As far as battery experimentation for charge lifetime, it does work, after a fashion

Fully experimented batteries using good materials carry 4 charges per battery, rather than the one or two charges you get from either not experimenting, or using poor materials. It doesnt even have to be your best stuff either....i think the 4 charge effectiveness level is around 75%....easily obtainable with even mediocre materials

More charges per battery means the battery lasts longer....kinda a backhanded way to work it, but oh well

I don't think anyone has a problem with using better, more highly-experimented batteries to get longer lifetime. In fact, I think we all want that. However, for my money (and time), the big problem is the frequency with which we are forced to recharge.

If a four-charge battery would recharge the droid with ALL four charges at once, and keep it running for an hour, I'd be a happier DE.

What's even funnier is I have an EG-6 power droid (named Gonk), and when I am bored I wander the land distributing power to the masses

I just need to make sure to take along a good supply of batteries, because although he carries a power core that never runs out, alas my mighty Gonk has not the ability to recharge himself

I about fell out of my chair laughing the first time I saw the *low power* message from him

I wonder what the point is sometimes, yet i still make more droids
