Thread: Question regarding Power and potential entergy
From Yak's Guide....
Q) Which kind of power is the best?
A) Each power type is created equal. They all work the same and their stats have no effect on how "powerful" they are
But from a few posts on SWGcraft.com , i've read that some people have "400k of powerful radioactive minterals that's equal to 700k power (in terms of powering harvesters)
So , could someone please clarify if a resource with a high potential energy has more 'more bang for the buck' in terms of powering harvesters/factories/ etc etc...
i.e 100 resource with 200 potential energy = 100 units of 'power'
while 100 resource with 900 potential energy = 250 units of 'power'?
Thanks
Yes,
This is the incorrect forum, but I will answer that question.
The potiential energy will affect the power of the Power Source. You can pretty much rely on a PE above 500 will provide more than a 1:1 ratio. ButI do not believe that PE under 500 will cause the negative affect.
So if you harvest 1000 units of Class 4 with a PE of 800 you will see that your power supply (when you insert power into you structure) will be 1333 or some such.
I think you can get the formula on some of the websites around.
Good luck
We need to start using new terminology in order to reduce confusion on this issue...
"Power" refers to power equivalents. If you have 1000 units of a resource with a potential energy of 500, then you also have 1000 "power". But if that resource has a potential energy of 750, then you have 1500 "power".
Far too many people improperly refer to resources as "power". Resources are NOT power. They provide power equivalents.
