I don't want to spoil anyones "Dead Eye" fun, but there is a spot where I need to kill 6 Stormtroopers and an Imperial Commander to take over a Relay Station... um, I'm a Droid Engineer

How does a pure crafter aquire these badges? If it involves combat, then perhaps we can expect a badge that involves creating Droids... oh nevermind that, the combat classes would have a fit.

Besides grouping (my group contains Tailors, Chiefs and Image Designers)... what did the Developers have in mind for us Crafters to do... we can't even scratch their eyes out.

I have the same problem, myfriend and I tried to take on the Rebel camp and got waxed before we'd even killed one (yes we were using pets and tactics but neither of us is CH)

I posted about this on the discussion board and the best (and most common) piece of advice was to bleed shot and run back to waiting pets (some distance away) rince and repeat.

Personally I think that act 2 should have had scaling difficulty like normal destroy missions do but there you go....

Im a master Artisan and DE and have most of my other points sunk in Pistoleer. I completed it barely, I had a dock buff me and took my gurreck and probot. I then got close enough so I could send in my pets on a different target each. I then hit as many as I coud with bleed shots and then started running away drawing a couple stormies with me and was able to kill the two of them. Thats when I headed for the hills and regrouped, set up camp and stored my dead pets and called my beetle and another probot (I know im pretty sad) and went back and sicked them on two more stormies as I wasted the corporal (the guy with the data disk). Well my pets lasted long enough for me to kill the corporal and loot the disk, I got in the tower and made the communication just before I was killed.

I dont know if you have any combat skills, so this could be worthless to you, or maybe you find it lame using all those pets and refuse, but this is how i did it. I couldnt find anyone to go with me and Im not in a guild so I gave it a go alone (except for my pets).

I have no combat skills... I was under the impression that combat skills were not required to make a difference in the GCW.

They're not. You just need friends with combat skills

Just because this portion of the GCW requires combat skills, doesn't mean they all do.

Fellow DEs,

I also ran into the final task trying to earn this badge, the killing of many Storm Troopers to gain access to the transmission terminal.

However, if you have scanned the area by using your MAP function, you may find an unguarded transmission terminal. While this may be the easy way out, it did allow me to the complete the final task.

Best of luck to all.

Two notes:

Only the commander has to be killed, and now it doesn't matter how he dies. When the Act first started, you had to kill the commander personally - if, for example, a pet killed him, it didn't count; but that has been fixed.

Finding an unguarded tower is the best option for those less combat inclined. You can still get the "feel" of completion, because you did have to go through all the other steps in the process, and it will still require some work to find the tower, but as long as you don't go out there looking while overt, it shouldn't be too overwhelming.

Doesnt help the Imps though - their mission is to kill everything unfortunately (unfortunately in the respect that theres alot to kill and its all quite hard)

Ooh... I didn't know there was that much difference in the two missions. That stinks. I do think the missions should be more balanced (read - leaning away from so much combat emphasis). I would like to see the missions based on what professions/skills a character has. I think that would allow everyone to feel as though they can participate. I think the missions should be difficult for everyone, but not impossible. I'm not sure how missions for some of the classes could be made difficult. For crafters, it could be making something that requires rare resources, or many sub-components. I'm just not sure what kind of missions the Entertainers could take...

Here is how I did it (keep in mind I am an Apprentice Gunfighter):

- Used my 3 rebel wilderness survival troopers and probot.

- Got a master doctor buff.

- Used Muon(sp) Gold to enhance mind.

When I arrived at the tower, I had all 4 of my NPC's stay put well outside of the tower. I then went in and tried to pick off one or two at a time, leading them to my NPC's. It worked, but was slow, had to work around the Muon Gold incaps, and lost one rebel trooper, but was able to complete the mission. And as you may have guessed, I refuse to own any sort of zoo pet.

There are many potential pitfalls with this strategy (e.g. was lucky to do it on Dantooine, thereby minimizing the risk of PvP), but just wanted to give one DE's method for completing the badge.

Obviously very difficult for a pure crafter, but you may be able to entice some fighters of your faction to help you out. The mission is great weapon XP and faction XP, so I'm willing to bet you'll be able to find some group assistance.
