Well I have to say with the up coming CH nerfs that I was pretty disgusted that I could not use my GSP to tank for me. I almost left the game because of the inconsistancy with nerfs. I don't even want to go there. In any event while I still had my GSP, I decided to use 4 Probots with 40% resists and medium armor. I was very pleasantly surprised that it worked pretty well.

What I did was this. I bought a couple of crates of batteries and made a few camps in inventory. I then went to the layer with a friend. I believe I can solo as well if I pull all the stops out. I did this consistantly on Khama lairs. I would send the probot at the first 2 khamas and they took the bait. Then I proceeded to take them down as quickly as possible. By the time they were dead my Probat had taken a beating but then I hit it with a recharge, camped pulled out a fresh one and had it start on the nest. I like that there seems to be almost no lag in switching targets using a probot. Once a Khama appeared I quickly issued the command to target the fresh target and the khama gave it all the attentiong while I gave it a pistol beating from the distance. Once the probot got low I rinsed and repeated.

So it seems us solo types will still be able to solo and this will only get better as I max out the rest of my skills. Of course I have not tested this on any other lairs. This is just one circumstance. Also, I must note that I was buffed. Im not sure if I would have been careful if this would have made a difference. I tend to get sloppy when I'm buffed. I will try more tonight..

For me this will meen more droid use. I have a second character that I think I will buy a repair droid for so I can repair these droids as they will get a lot of use. Plus im going to be buying a lot of batteries..

I've used a similar method for droid tanking. It at least can hold the attention of a creature or 2 while I thin out the crowd with my carbine. Take care trying this on camps of npcs because sometimes they weild armor piercing or maybe just heavier damaging weapons that chew droids up quick.

When I did the act II with my probot and my beetle the probot held up longer than the beetle. Other times when I have used my gurreck and probot I swear the probot holds up to the gurreck if not better in some cases.
