Thread: Problems With My New Droid

Hello everyone,

I've purchased a droid with Medince: 100, Data and Item Storage, and a Food/Chem module. It's an R2 unit.

Whenever I store the droid and recall her,she forgets all of the commands I have taught her. When I call her, she says that the customization has faded and gets a fresh random paint job.

The medicine capability is not working at all. When I try healing wounds near her, she says, "You must be in a hospital or a campsite to heal wounds." The part about "or near a surgical droid" has disappeared.

I haven't tried using the storage capabilities. I figure that's an accident waiting to happen.

Anyway, I hear these are known bugs. What I'm asking is if there are any workarounds.

Thanks so much!

It sounds like you need to feed the driod a battery, I had some of the same issues, fed it a battery and was good to go again.

The forgetting commands is a new one for me, I've heard it happening with some creatures but not droids. Make sure she's actually forgetting the commands and not just not showing them in the datapad (that does happen quite often). For the med capability not working, your out of batteries. droids are currently battery hogs, needing to be recharged fairly often. They shouldn't be too expensive, more of an inconvenience. I'd recommend getting a crate or so of them (I charge 2500 for a crate of 25, each one should have 3-4 charges depending on the quality). The customization is related to the paint job and is a bug right now, if you have a DE paint the droid for you it should hold the color and stop giving you the message (unil the customization really does wear off after 20 calls). You should be safe with the storage, I haven't seen any bugs with that recently (which is a good thing, I keep a 100k or so worth of parts/resources in there at any given time). Hope this helps.

I fed the droid four batteries and still can't use it as a surgical droid. =(

You're right, Jenden. She's not forgetting the commands, they just aren't showing up in the datapad. Still having a problem with the medicine module though, even after recharging her.

Thanks for the help everyone!

There seems to be some random cases where droids completely forget the modules that were built into them. Over the past couple of weeks I've had 5 such cases (out of about 80 droids made). Check on the datapad listing to make sur there is a medical rating there. If there is and you have recharged the droid, next borrow a med droid from someone else and try again to see if it makes a difference.

I've had some other people commenting that the batteries weren't working for them either, but it seems that when I use my power droid to recharge the droid for them it snaps out of it. Not sure if its something to do with the droid not really recharging or what but I have yet to have a case where it couldn't be fixed. My recommendation would be to find someone with a power droid (few and far between) and see if they'll recharge it for you.

Perhaps we're still seeing some of those 'prepatch battery' issues?

I know that after the last big patch, many people said that their new droids would only correctly recharge with newly made batteries, as well. I have no idea if this is so, I was conveniently out of battery stock at the time...
