I was just thinking about how weak probots were made very early in the game. Well, it seems as though they were made to be about as powerful as a brand spanking new artisan or entertainer player with no combat skills. Yes, that's about right... about the same HAM and about the same DPS as a novice entertainer equiped with a CDEF blaster.

This logic was flawed for several reasons. Chief amongst them was that no NPC, MOB, or player with any skills at all does not use some offensive or defensive specials. Droids get no specials, none, nada. In order to be on the same level as, oh let's say a durni or a gnort, a combat droid should either be able to use some defensive specials, some offensive specials, or have better HAM or DPS to compensate for the extreme stupidity exhibited in combat.

As it stands, probots (which are the top of the fighting droid food chain now) are not in any way balanced. I know that balance is very important in the minds of the devs. Consider that even level 10 non CH pets get to use both offensive and defensive special abilities, and you'll see what I mean. Granted, probots can have armor which level 10 pets cannot, but even that doesn't seem to be adding the additional effectiveness I'd expect it to.

A novice character does not have medium armor and 40% resists. The damage is pathetic, yes, but they were far overpowered at the beginning considering their armor and resists.
