I believe you should check your eyes, my fellow DE. Numbers nor spaces can be put in Droid Names as they're put through the standard player name filter. I believe its on the issues list (see sticky at the top).
You can use some special character such as ' and - (I think). Some will use special characters like that to seperate words - "Eat-at-joes".

Well, until the coming patch theres been no other purpose for the BLL. I mean, if I can sell a droid that is completely useless, I think that makes me a hell of a salesman

Honestly, I've never seen a problem with it. I've never done it myself but I've seen plenty of people using it. I know every BLL I've sold (and any DE whos sold a BLL should know) that its only purpose so far in game has been to act as a walking billboard.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but I've never heard anyone else complain about it. I've always thought it neat to get off the shuttle and see a line of droids marching before me

People must have seen my droid doing it and they all pulled out theirs and did the same as they were passing by. It was quite a sight. I have screenshots somewhere, I'll have to dig them out sometime

Totally agree, B10tch.
I have my little mouse droid (Who's name is: training-artisan-de) running behind me wherever i go. This way, people know I'm available for that type of training without me spamming it all over the place.
Now, the last time I was in Coronet, I saw a Greater Desert Womp Rat patroling ON the front steps of the starport. What was the pets name?An advertisement for Stims and Medical supplies. A PET is a bit different than a droid in the billboard matters. A droid isbuilt to serve man. Pets, ok, ya maybe them too, but who names their pet "Pet-stims-and-more-at-Larrys"?
