Think it would be interresting if the space expansion allowed players to play as droids in game? They could have restrictions on what they can wear and what they can do and also cool abilities that biological players don't have.
Would also allow for droids to get real quasi-AI personalities because there's actually a mind behind the metalic avatar (like anthony daniels).
Droid engineers could act as their doctors and whatnot.. Engineers could build enhancements for the droids... Bioengineered items would have no effect on them.. etc...
I think it'd be really cool if you could be a 3-PO unit or a 21B droid or a combat droid. Even think about stuff like transfering your central brain unit to another chassi if you wanted to become some other droid type (but keep your droid designation)....

I only wish. But I don't think it likely that they will ever add any more playable species, droid or not. And if they did, they probably wouldn't make it be an existing craftable droid type. But I wish.

they have not even bother to properly fix the profession yet and the fixes they are about to do suck so i really doubt they will ever do anything that cool.
