Thread: Architect Droid?
This is really the primary function of droids right now, although I find that the food/chem crafting stations and weapon/droid/general crafting stations are my best sellers. MOST droids can contain a built-in crafting station, and this includes a structure type station.
Probably the best thing is a droid with a station and item storage. If you like to make schematics in the field data storage can be added too. For this you'll need at least a 'three-slot' droid, but that's not a problem, an advanced R4 can do this with ease, as can any R2 or R3.
Actually, I have sold a number of advanced R2's to arch's, usually with the following components, or some variant:
- Structure craftingstation
- Generic/weapon/droid crafting station
- Item storage
- Data storage
- Droid repair
These droids are great for archs because it lets them go to people's houses and build them furniture on the spot to decorate with. There is good money to be made in this manner, if your house and harvestor sales are low...
There is an effectiveness stat like on personal stations, but the numbers don't match. Example, an experimentation of 99% on a Droid crafting station gives +14, but the same 99% gives +44 on a personal station. In my experience, they are roughly equivalent.
Your best bet is to ask for the experimentation value (%), or the effectivenes (and multiply by 3 to get a rough equivalent fora personal station).
Truth be told, a lot of players participating in the curent crit failures thread on the DEV forum believe that the quality of tools and stations has no impact on crafting success. If you search the DE forums, many swear that Droid stations are far better than personal ones (subjective feel), while others say the differerence between a -10 and +10 droid station is negligeable... It's all messed up, even the DEVs don't can't answere what impact tool quality has.
