I was a MDE for a very short time b/c i saw a major problem with it. Once someone buys a droid, other than bomb droids, they never need your sevices again. A GOOD, FUN, COOL looking droid like a droideka would be a hot item and make DE a more appreciated and appealing profession. Make the droids capible of 5000+ ham dmg around 200-400 depending on resources and optional PSG equipped units that NEED to be repaired. I don't see why DE cannot make them, Nym has a ton of them...Give the DE's a quest starting at Nyms or the DE's cave. It would add more fun for everyone on the game, imagine riding in your landspeeder with a Droideka tumbling like a ball behind you.

Nice idea, i am not nor ever been a DE but i really cant see much use for them and this might give them a use. Possibly making a DE the only person who can repair droids aswell ?

Yes, I would love to see these implimented as well as Battle Droids. When I first got the game at release I chose DE because I thought I would be making droids such as these.... well we'll see if my dream ever comes true.

I would rather see a battle droid, and able to put in a ranged weapon when you build it. Maybe with around 6-8k HAM.

One thing's for sure...
DEs are the only ones that will be making them (if/when they ever happen).

I think this is a great idea. They could implement it in a Trade Federation dungeon. You could fight your way down to get a scamatic or make the droid there. Give it a shield gen with a once per day use (not as good as the originals, so they are not overpowered).
These droids could be the PRIZE, but the smaller battle droids and other scamatics could be put in to populate the servers. (I never liked using a probe droid as a battle machine).

I would love to see more combat droids actually made for combat. The Battle Droid idea that was said in an above post, were you put in a weapon during crafting, that sounds like a neat idea.

Would be very nice, but is most likely not happening anytime this year.
Also There would have to be some trade-off as the droids would be well over CL10 (certification?)

YES!!!! or heck, at least make it so there is rare loot out there that allows us to construct one!
I mean, if you make Droidekas hard to craft because you need rare loot, at least it will give us Droid Engineers a challenge to try and make them.Ya know, make Droidekas like RIS Armor for Armorsmiths. If they are rare to craft, you won't see thousands of Droidekas walking everywhere all the time.

Just don't make them so damn rare there's 1 per server... that's just freaking lame. (Yes, I'm talking about Mandolorian armor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Droideka's would be cool to make. Whether it be an actual droid or just the chassis for now.
To everyone who has suggested it come in the form of loot, do not do that. If we have to battle our way to the bottom of a super hard dungeon then there are a good number of us pure crafters who will never have access to this content and since it is content for crafters that is simply not fair. A quest from Nym that offers no combat, or very lowlevel combat in exchange for a permenant schematic that does not require loot components would be acceptable.

Well what about the sonic pistol schematic or the AV-21 Schematic, Both are for crafting professions after a tough dungeon, Why not the Droideka Schematic drop somewhere in the DE cave on Lok and the battle droid schematic in some trade fed place.
