Thread: How to add Value To droids in the future.

I've been a MDE for about 2 months. This character is my second character and I love being a DE. I would like to pose a suggestion to the devs and a question to the DE's.

Lets make the droids do what their description says!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I mean by this is if I buy a Medical droid give it the ability to do some player healing (low or moderate lvl). Most Doctors today just focus on buffs not healing ham or wounds. (ADDED Value). In every Star Wars movie I've seen it's droids doing the healing of an injured Skywalker on Hoth and refitting him with a robotic hand.

Make repair droids be able to repair armor and weapons. Since the armorsmith and weaponsmith are more concerned with the profit made by selling countless new items. Oh my goodness this might even drive the price down on 300k composite, It doesn't make much since for a repair droid to be a tank or have a food and chem crafting station.

Pull out your protocol droid when you run into a zabrak that isn't speaking basic so that it can translate for you and every new player in the game doesn't have to be taught every language. I know it's a little consistent with the movie, but isn't that why we're all playing this game.

Finally make some combat droids. The probe is cool but we've all played SW games and seen the films. Allow us to make Droidekas, Battle Droids, Super battle Droids, and sarcastic Assasin droids like HK from KOTOR.

Is this to difficult, maybe it is. Does it make sense? It does to me. If I create a repair module I expect it to plug into a repair droid or an Rx unit. Why because I've seen in movies and games that R2, R3 and other Rx droids repair stuff.

My 2 cents

I'm going to seem like a real jerk with this reply....but it's what you're saying has been asked for many times before, and many things have been denied, such as:

This would take away the basics of the medic profession. They have told us time and again that they would not "give away" specific profession attributes with the purchase of a droid.

Yep, been suggested. It's amazing though that even after a year of operation, we still don't know how the repair system really works either.

This was the first "19 Questions" asked by the "Core Systems" correspondant. It's a big player issue even moreso than just us DE's. However, they have already said they do not plan on re-doing the language system in the forseable future. Possibly if we screamed our head off about this during the correspondant issues mini-publish...we'd get it through, but most would agree we have bigger issues.

Another most recommended suggestion, that has been said won't happen until a "high level player controlled droid solution is implemented."

Yep, it does make logical sense. Some of the things you list are "too hard" mechanics wise to balance out and in the case of the language system...hard to code. I was very happy when during publish 7 the fact that the repair module wasn't working in LE Repair droids was finally fixed. To be honest, I don't ever recall selling a Repair module in anything less than a R-series droid.

My 2 cents
