I've played around a lot to figure some things out, but I still have some questions I haven't found an answer to yet. I have yet to find any link-steel aluminum so I can't even play around with the lvl 5 and 6 armor modules.

I'm at work so I can't check this myself.

Experimentation on effectiveness affects what?

Are the following affected by effectiveness experimentation? Are there others?

(1) Creature harvesting module - harvest more with better experimentation/resources?

(2) Auto-repair module - repair more with better experimentation/resources?

(3) Combat module - more damage/faster attack rate with better experimentation/resources?

(4) Defensive module - better defense with better experimentation/resources?

(a) What affect does the composite armor segment have in the formula for good defensive modules? Does the base effectiveness and integrity even matter? Droid armor doesn't wear out so I'm guessing integrity doesn't matter. Does the base effectiveness matter or is the final assembly of the defensive module and the quality of the resources the deciding factor? To get medium armor with 40% resists, so you have to have two level 6 armor modules?

(5) Medical module - more effectiveness up to 110 with better experimentation/resources?

Best combat droid:

(1) Advanced LE Repair Droid has the biggest ham of all models. If I recall correctly, they do not have a slot for defensive module. If so, then the advanced probot and advanced R3 are the obvious choices because they DO have defensive module capabilities. The AdvR3 has more ham (4500) than the AdvProbot (3200). The AdvProbot is the only one that can get medium armor with up to 40% resists? If so, then the AdvProbot is the obvious choice.

Thanks for any replies.

Doh! I tried to research before I asked. I missed one FAQ that answered some questions.

Two level 4 armor modules equates to a droid with medium armor and 40% resists. I assume this means that the quality of the composite armor segment doesn't matter in the least.

I see that the AdvLERepair droid can have 1 armor slot so that means a L6 module would give medium with 40% resists. If so, then perhaps the repair droid is the best defensive droid tank while the probot would be the best offensive droid tank.

Sorry I missed that info the first time.

Hello and Welcome to DE!

The best thing for you to do is to read the stickied posts at the top and use your search button to find threads on these modules. There have been threads about each of your questions within the last few months and should be easy to find (They have alot of info in them).

I will however answer your questions very briefly:

1) Yes

2) Yes

3) Yes

4) Ummm.. probably Yes however since we cannot see the exact resists per module we can only speculate.

a)One level six module will give you the max resist for a droid which is 20%. The 40% you see is a bug. You can also achieve the cap by stacking 2 level 3 modules

5) Yes. 110 is pretty easy to achieve if you stack modules (or use the level 6). Most people will not buy a med droid unless it has a 110 rating.

Combat droids are personal preference. I think the LE repair droid stinks; others disagree. I use a Adv. R3 when I hunt. Once again remember the armor cap is 20% not 40%.

Ah I misunderstood what the bug was. I thought the max possible was 40%. It's only med 20%...

Just curious. Why do you think the LE repair droid stinks as a combat droid?

Well when I make a combat droid I load it up with auto-repair modules (which stack). The LE repair has 6400 HAM but can only hold 2 modules plus one combat mod. The Adv R3 has 4500 HAM but holds 5 modules plus one combat mod.

In my experience, the R3 was able to hold out much longer in combat due to the stacking of the auto-repair mods. But we just had a thread on this a few weeks ago and some people liked the LE repair. So ultimately its personal preference.

Actually, you might have been reading an old FAQ. Droid armor doesn't give any armor rating at all any more. The max is 20% resists, which, due to a display bug, show up as 40%.
