Hi there

I was just asking me WHY do droids have a readying time and are not able to be called in combat?

Any other Weapon, Armor, spice, whatever can be consumed/equipped right now, even in combat...

(I know that Armor needs time, too, but that goes through the combat que, right?)

Did someone abused the system? Or does the Server need a timespan before creating a entity?

Droids are similar to creature pets, and when everybody and their brother were CHs the devs saw it as a problem. People calling pets in the middle of combat, for an added surprise. They did not want people taking advantage of it, so they decided to not allow them to be called in combat. We piggyback off the pet structure, therefor you cannot call a droid in combat. This is true of swoops and speeders also.

Feel better, you used to need a camp to call a droid, pet, or speeder, but that was changed for the better IMHO. Now you just need to wait 15 secs. It was a horrible pain to gather enough bone and hide, make a camp, then call your droid/speeder, thats if you had novice scout.

If thats true, its no wonder that the combat droids are pretty much useless... every commando can tag himself novice artisan and then get out his flamethrower for the "added surprise"....

And not allowing people who either bought, or tamed a pet (droid in our Case) take advantage of it in Combat seems rather .... stupid....

And yes, i am happy that they removed the camp thing

There is a 3 second delay when you switch weapon in combat.

Why a readying delay?
One answer : BOOM droids.
